Hades 2 released in early access last night, and is already pulling in some impressive numbers on Steam for concurrent players.

At the time of writing, there are over 100,000 players making their way through Supergiant Games' first-ever sequel. It has eclipsed its predecessor, with the first Hades game currently holding a concurrent player record of 37,749 (although, it is worth noting that Hades was a timed-exclusive on the Epic Games Store, before it arrived on Valve's PC storefront).

Additionally, it appears the launch of Hades 2 may eventually boost the concurrent player record of the first game. Figures on SteamDB show that the first Hades recorded a peak of 36,043 players in the last 24 hours, closing in on its record from four years ago.

That's the sound of being financially secure till the 1.0 release and beyond. Good for them! I loved the first Hades and will patiently wait for the full release of the sequel.

Seems like this might be the next "big" game after helldivers 2 and Palworld, hope to see it soar even higher than this.

Hades 1 in EA had already better gameplay, art design, music, voice acting and writing than a lot of games.

And this one has a lot of content already and seems super polished, if only every EA was like this.

It’s 100% single player, so probably not. All the biggest games are multiplayer or have a multiplayer component except for Cyberpunk.

Still, 100K concurrent players is fucking impressive.

Got the first one in early access and ended up playing the game less when it was actually complete because I played so much on EA, this time I'll wait.

You can just say that it was better than most early access games
No, even in his early access the game had splendid gameplay and all the other things i said that were better than a lot of complete games, the only thing missing was amount of content and refining, the core was already good from the beginning.

Little spoiler for you, if a game has bad gameplay, bad voice acting, bad music etc. During the alpha\beta state, chances are that these thing are gonna remain the same, your voice acting or music is not gonna get an automatic upgrade just because you release the 1.0 version.
