Hellblade 2 *Almost* Took The Top Slot (DF) Best Graphics 2024

High fidelity does nothing to me if the gameplay is dull and unenjoyable.

it's barely a video game, and that fact should be part of the final decision here imo.

it's on the same level of impressive as an Nvidia graphics demo... yeah it runs in real time, and yeah it's sorta interactive, but in the end there's barely anything dynamic happening and everything is super restricted, nearly 100% static and scripted.

to be fair, not even the Order is this bad... and the Order is already absolute garbage, so that's kinda wild.

Not as bad, worse, considering what The Order was trying to do.

If The Order gave up the shitty shooter gameplay and went all in on story and experience like HB2 did, it could have been a lot better. I say could have been, because the writing and story in The Order was pure garbage, but I give them the benefit of the doubt.

It should have, but Alex probably annoyed everyone to give Indiana Jones first place because of ray tracing.
I can see the argument to be made about it (Indiana Jones) being more technically impressive due to the RT, framerate and overall look of the game. However Hellblade 2 has the superior visuals and it has them decisively in my opinion.

All that matters is the end result. In a "best graphics" contest the only thing that should matter is the end result. They should probably rename it to most technically impressive game of the year or something in the future.
