Quite honestly I honestly want them to fail, they need to.
Remember when Microsoft did so well with the XBOX 360 and then they thought they could simply ride the success without any effort and put anti-customer practices and then it became a shit show for Sony to just kick the Xbox brand in the teeth with one of the most upvoted videos.
Then Microsoft got their act together and now reversing course. Xbox now has better backward compatible titles than Sony. You can use your Xbox One accessories with Series X, etc. Cross saves are easier than PS5. They sare still last place, but they are actually taking feedback (to some degree) in comparison. Thought the U.I still looks like ass.
Now motherfucking Sony is being arrogant now with all the censorship bs, hell its censorship si even worse than Nintendo's. Fuck I played PS5 for the first time and enjoyed the DualSense controller but it took me 30 min and google searching on how to turn off the system. Holy fuck that is some bad intuitive design, you would think pressing on the PS button and holding it would give the option, nope.
Nintendo failed with the Wii U and they got back up with the Nintendo Switch, now Nintendo is being stagnant with their Switch OLED, the system still runs like ass, it takes me like 3-4 min to boot fucking Animal Crossing New Horizons, playing that game is now painful. I'm so used to instant-on with fast boot times for Series X that Switch feels like playing Pokemon Diamond and Pearl and each HP is relative to 1 frame and it takes too damn long for their HP to go down (people who played these games would get the reference).
In short. I want all these companies to fucking fail, they need a fire lit under their asses so they can constantly try rather than be mother fucking stagnant.
Then you have corporate ass hats move in trying to take control and regress gaming.
EA needed to fail so we can get rid of fucking loot boxes out of our games, it needed that media attention.
Now loot boxes are gone companies are still doing that shady buy money for gems or credits and have that convert to skin purchases so games forget about the actual value spent and FOMO.
More shady practices with FOMO on skins.
Remember when EA killed Dead Space franchise with microtransactions in a single-player game, remember when they tried that shit with Shadow of Mordor.
Fuck I want all of these companies to fail so they can have their fucking heads screwed up straight.
It's like these corporations have their heads far up their asses they can't hear.
But these corporations are all about the money.
The food industry is like this, they put food that is pretty unhealthy, I'm just hoping some CEO's kid dies from the food their company ingests so they can actually learn something.
Bad things need to happen for people to actually learn. It is a necessary evil.
This is why I want video game companies to fail.
Let Ubisoft fail because of their shitty copied and pasted games that won't have traction.
Let EA fail so they can make better single-player games.
Let Xbox fail so we can get better products and services.
Let Nintendo fail again so we don't get the repeat Wii U.
They need to fail, they have to.
Competition is good and healthy and it's better for the consumer.
