IGN Entertainment, the world's #1 media company for video game and entertainment enthusiasts, announced today its partnership with Twitter as their official livestream broadcast partner for the 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, California.

Commonly referred to as E3, the week-long programs will air June 10th – 15th, live from the E3 Expo located within the Los Angeles Convention Center, IGN's Los Angeles studio space, and LA Live. Gaming and entertainment fans will receive over 30 hours of live coverage and IGN's livestream will be available worldwide to Twitter's logged-in and logged-out audience on Twitter and connected devices.

IGN coverage at E3 2017 will be hosted and produced by IGN. The live shows will feature all major press briefings from Sony, Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and more, including live pre- and post show commentary from IGN hosts and special guests. Coverage will also include exclusive hands on demos, new gameplay, live interviews from the industry's biggest game creators and producers, the very best of gaming cosplay, and eSports news and competitions.

Fans will also receive live all-access reports direct from the show floor, where this year, the ESA has re-opened the expo to the public, offering 15,000 tickets to non-industry professionals. IGN Live from E3 will integrate live Twitter conversations utilizing Twitter polls and questions from the Twitter audience, providing the opportunity to connect and participate within E3 from anywhere in the world.

"Our gaming audience turns to Twitter every year to discuss what's happening at E3," said Anthony Noto, COO at Twitter. "We are excited to partner with IGN, an industry leader in gaming coverage, on these unique broadcasts that will bring live video and the related conversation all to Twitter."

"E3 is hands-down the biggest week of the year for video games," said Wade Beckett, CPO and SVP of Video at IGN Entertainment. "With jaw-dropping announcements and new game reveals, Twitter is the perfect livestream partner and platform given our global audience and their passion to be part of the conversation. Gamers around the world are going to be the real winners thanks to our partnership."

The stream will be available globally at E3.twitter.com and on @IGN.

You can watch football games on twitter

they were the first social one werent they? periscope?

i think they have thursday night football too

Yes.
Last year's Thursday Night Football NFL games were streamed via Twitter's platform.

As far as I understand it, it's less live streaming tech and more broadcasting tech.

Wow, okay. Didn't know about the football, I guess that's somewhat less baffling now. My only window into Periscope is "Dan Ryckert gorges on Taco Bell," so I'd not thought of it as a "proper" streaming/broadcasting platform for things that aren't cell phones.

So the little video media player on the right side of the website will just be IGN E3 feed for the week? that's not too bad, better then seeing american sports and american news which is odd because I live in the UK.

IGN's E3 coverage is so corporate. It's like they're ticking off boxes of sponsored games to talk about. I honestly prefer to just watch YouTube streamers. Their reactions are real, and their speculation is real. With NeoGAF's reaction threads open on my tablet I'm good to go.

Very cool, very cool.

I'll probably be watching on Youtube and then rewatch the Giant Bomb stream like usual, though, but that's a neat avenue for those that want it!

Everyone's plans are firming up for E3.

Only 10 weeks until E3, where has the year gone.
Damn, when you put it like that, it really isn't that far away.

Being a college student with a part time job makes the time just fly by. When I was younger, I would be dying for E3 to come around lol.

I won't be watching the IGN coverage of E3 but it is cool this partnership is happening. Gives more accessibility to the general audience.

One problem with them is that they always have the screen so small. When I view the conferences a second time I always watch them tho.

Might go with IGN but most likely will stick with kinda funny again even tho there is no mr moriarty :(

I watch E3 through Kinda Funny but since Colin is gone it hasn't been the same. This year I will watch through Easy Allies.

I also think that it feels like E3 came quicker because we've been preoccupied with so many games since like what October?

When is IGN or Twitch or Rooster Teeth going to be attempt a television network. Nothing has filled the G4 void since they folded 4 years ago. E3 would be a great time to launch said network
