IGN Reviewer Threatens He Will Dock Points On Reviews If Games Use Gulf Of America

So many people who never cared about the Gulf before, now suddenly care about it being renamed. Crazy how politics turn people into sheep.

To be fair, the same could be said for those supporting the change of the name.

No one "cared" before, because no one tried to change the name in the last 475 years. Try to change it now, and of course people will be talking about it.

This silly shit aside, IGN has been boosting the score of politically charged games to make them day 1 sales. They gave veilguard a 9 and avowed a 9.5. We all know that both games do not deserve that score.

I fight back by review bombing. Make a ton of acounts and go shit on them on metacritic. Nothing makes the media more upset than gamers review bombing their favorite LGBTQRSTUVWYXZ games.

What if it is illegal to drill in the Gulf of Mexico but perfectly legal to drill in the Gulf of America and drilling began once the name was changed.

Still dumb?
Isn't that the reason he did it?

And I find it deeply ironic that this person doesn't think things can TRANSition from one name to another. Why she dead-naming?

Looks more like Elon Musk as a tranny than it did before.

Ironic....

As a European, I can see why wokes get triggered by this. None really cares about the goddamn gulf, but the act of changing the name of a street or a place for ideological reasons. The left believes that changing names is an exclusive privilege since they have dictated the official narrative for the last decade. In my country, it's very common for the socialists to change whatever name they like and they would fear the right in power would do the same. It's much more important than it seems. Winning over the language is a key battle in the culture war.

I doubt that freak from IGN is that insightful but deep down he "feels" that conservatives can't be allowed to do this.

What an emotional crybaby focused on the wrong things. Thank god they aren’t in charge of anything important like a country. Can you imagine wasting mental and emotional space on the name of a body of water?

Does he really think anyone will take his threats seriously? And why is he even so upset about this in the first place?

By the way, on my maps, it looks like this, both the old and new names of the gulf are preserved.

gulf of america aka gulf of mexico

It's a both sides thing again. Who cares about the name. Let her doc a point from a review for it, won't affect any of you snowflakes. Quit getting rage baited.

"If you can't respect my new name and pronouns, why should I respect your new name?"
Well, using pronouns, especially in the context of transgender people, feels like an imposition of ideology I don’t agree with. I’m not against people but I’m against being forced to participate in their personal beliefs. Respect should be mutual, not one-sided

Both sides continue to get dumber by the minute. I miss the days where the most divisive thing you could say in gaming was that the Wii is two GameCubes duct taped together.

Agreed. Just trying to answer why someone is feeling what they are feeling.

I read your OP post, zoomed in and leana sounds like a girls name, but the pic looks like a dude. Huh? I thought maybe Leana was some fancy European name for a guy.

Then I fanned down a few posts and it’s a trans guy. Lol

I think the name change is awful and very disrespectful to Mexicans, its still internationally called the Gulf of Mexico, you can only get a legit name change through the United Nations. Personally think this is just another freedom fries instance and the next administration will remove it. As disgusting I think changing the name of the gulf is its still not as disgusting as IGN.

I hope, within these next four years, that companies will wise up and fire all these mentally ill degenerates and send them back to their basements or that the government will step in and have them committed so they can get the help they desperately need.

It looks like they've only got one Naval Base on the gulf, and tbh, it's more like a couple docks than what you'd think of when you read "naval base". I'm of the "use it or lose it" mindset when it comes to territory and natural resources. Like, imagine you're playing a competitive RTS and there's a guy just barely building stuff around his base. Leaving resources untapped etc. Eventually you're gonna grab it, and if you don't grab it, someone else will.

They gave Avowed a review score already?

It's time.

For once, the griftees have a legitimate complaint. The only thing dumber than this whole Gulf of America name change nonsense is a reviewer docking a game because of it.
