[Insider Gaming] EXCLUSIVE – Ubisoft is Developing a Turn-Based Tactics Game Set in The Rainbow 6 Universe

finally, i'm craving to something like this. I wish there would be more TBT in the future, especially modern military, or scifi (but not vs alien) more

I have my doubts about this. Wasn't some dev moaning a while back that the genre is not attractive for new projects because XCOM 2 is getting all the attention?

With that said I'd definitely play another higher budget XCOM clone. It's a shame that MS never decided to make Gears Tactics 2. Or that Miasma Chronicles flopped and who knows if there's going to be another game from that studio (Mutant Year sequel would be awesome).

This is like saying you can't make an RPG because Baldurs Gate III exists. The key requirement is that the game needs to be good. There's a reason that 40k Mechanicus is getting a sequel and gears Tactics is not.

Hello, everyone. This is my first post after years of lurking, and then waiting for an approval.

I think the rumor is really promising. Ghost Recon Shadow Wars was my go-to launch title for Nintendo 3DS, and I had tons of fun with it. It was more Fire Emblem than X-Com perhaps, but the core idea is that this concept works for such an IP. Especially that we are long overdue for Xcom 3.
