iOS 10 is still really buggy months later.

I think this iOS release is by far the worst as far as quality goes. There are so many bugs that I've called Apple about and they have no answers. Is anyone else experiencing huge glaring bugs that won't go away?

The most annoying for me is iMessage alerts not automatically going away, even though it's set correctly in the settings. Apple had no idea how to fix the issue. So I guess I just have to wait for an update to hopefully fix it.

Anyone who's still on 9 should stay there as long as possible tbh. The new features aren't worth the bugginess..

Sometimes I start the Music app and it just sits on a blank white screen.
Last night I told Siri to "Set a timer for 15 minutes" and it responded "Setting timer..." and then froze.
Occasionally I'll have a decent signal on LTE but nothing internet based will be able to load until I've restarted my phone - sometimes more than once.

Not a bug, but I hate the new "Press HOME to open" versus the old "Unlocks automatically as soon as Touch ID authenticates" behavior.

iOS 10 on an iPhone 5S.

iOS 10 has bugs, but not more so than any other iOS release.

Can't say I've had any real issues. Only thing I noticed was custom notification sounds not working for a couple of apps but I've not had that for weeks now so it's possible one of the updates resolved it.

I think the bugs that are present are very visible though, past iOS releases had bugs, but not ones this blatant. Like having an annoying notification bar on top of everything I do just makes the iPhone 7 feel kind of ghetto to use.

This mixed with the lack of AirPods thing is pushing me towards selling this 7 and getting a Pixel tbh. And I've owned every iPhone. It just seems like Apple has lost what used to make them stand out. Like they stopped trying?

Makes me sad. :(

My iPhone 6s+ is rebooting almost daily.

Super fucking annoying, and the first time I can remember ever having issues with iOS like this.

The calendar app can't import an ics file anymore. The "add all" button is simply missing and if you try to add each activity one by one it only works for the first one and then hangs on the second.

ios 10 was a mistake for sure

apart from the bugs, I really REALLY dislike the new notification system, seems shit without a 3d touch screen or whatever they call the pressure sensitive screen thing

Somewhere there's another thread about how much Apple is adding with these minor updates. Can't win.

Sometime when I get a call and swip nothing happens. Same thing using Safari just freezes sometimes. I had none of these issues on iOS 9. iPhone 6 Plus here.

Mail crashes almost every time I use it on my iPad 4. I know the hardware is getting old but an email app should function on anything.

Hit or miss for me. If the rest of my friends didn't use iMessage, I would switch to Android in a heartbeat.

Haven't had any major problems so far. The battery life does seem to have gone down at least on my my device. Other than that, I'm pretty pleased.

This reminds me, I absolutely hate and don't get the change to swipe to unlock. At least give us an option to re-enable it.

I was getting problems with some music tracks starting 14 seconds in, and others ending prematurely and skipping to the next song.

While ironically, I also had problems with the music app not respecting custom start & end timestamps i had set in iTunes. multiple delete of tracks and redownloads with nothing after each minor update, but fortunately thee seem to be fixed now after 10.1 (i did need to do one more clear out of the music from settings > general > storage though).

Now my main problems are just battery life and the janky forward swipe gesture in in safari.

Another bug I have besides my notification sounds stop working until a reboot.

Sometimes when opening the camera it freeze for up to 10 seconds, it's really frustrating.

6S+

The only thing that's been bugging me is when you tilt your phone while in iMessage, it goes into the draw your message screen.

My wife and I are both having issues, but different issues.

I have a 6, she has a 6+.

My issues are

  • Screen goes dark and requires screen to be locked and unlocked before I can interact with it again.
  • Horrible delay when texting where words will auto correct after I'm 3 or 4 words past.
  • Issues with Apps not willing to rotate to landscape despite the lock not being enabled.
  • Battery bar turns yellow at various percentages. I've seen yellow at 4% and 79%.

My wife's issue have been:

  • While using phone notifications pop up as if she is holding the screen in landscape, even if she is locked into portrait.
  • Perspective lock being enabled doesn't prevent phone from switching to landscape on occasion.
  • Phone stops outputting sound on occasion for certain apps (mainly GPS).

Haven't encountered anything in iOS 10 that doesn't seem to work but usually for any odd things the usual method is to try turning off the setting and turning it back on, restart your iPhone, reset all settings (will not erase your iPhone) and if needed may need to do a full on restore using iTunes on a computer and see if that resolves the problem.

The last option you would need to do a full backup first since it will erase your iPhone and if it's a major bug that keeps coming back after restoring your data then there's something in that data that is causing the problem.

You could wait and see if an update will fix it otherwise you may need to start from a full restore and manually transfer your data back (contacts, calendar, mail accounts, usually ones where you can sync it online somewhere) but certain ones will not come back such as messages and certain app data.

  • Notifactions don't automatically go away at the top of the screen
  • Some apps don't group notifications
  • Phone randomly freezes and reboots for a second
  • Rest finger to open doesn't always work

All I can think of now but there are definitely some more. iPhone 6s.

It is really bad. Just bugs all over the place. Sure it was nice to be able to annoy the crap out of my wife with surprise penis drawings for a while, but now the novelty has worn off and I'm just left with a buggy mess of a phone.

Im having several issues with the update as well.

My most annoying one being sometimes the touch screen stops working completely, which requires me to lock and unlock.

Notifications wont disappear automatically

Music sometimes wont play when disconnecting from device it was playing to, which i have to restart the app for it to work again.

I had a weird issue this morning where the quick reply text box came up for a Telegram notification I got, but when I unlocked my phone without replying, the text box remained and there was nothing I could do to get rid of it other than lock and unlock the phone again.

iOS 10 is definitely very unrefined compared to the older versions. The fingerprint scanner performance on my phone is also a lot worse after the upgrade to 10.

it's fucking garbage. laggy (and I have a brand new iphone 7), bluetooth doesn't pick up podcast app, spotify app or music app even though it was perfect on my iphone 6s... so annoying.

I haven't had any glaring problems. Sure there's occasionally incorrect behavior, but nothing chronic or major.

The one thing that still makes me rage is bad behavior in Messages whenever you rotate the phone from portrait to landscape. I do that all the time, since I prefer to read in portrait and type in landscape, but it's always at my own peril. After rotation hotspots are incorrect, text layout is wrong/clipped, image browsers crash or hang, etc. But this isn't anything new to iOS 10, it's always been an area that Apple fails to QA very well.

Runs perfect for me on 6s+. Been using iOS since iPhone OS 2, this is one of the most solid releases I’ve ever seen. Thanks for sharing, though.

Damn straight. It's a mess that has made my 6 nearly unusable.

I have to wait like 5-10 seconds sometimes to switch apps via multitasking.

The battery life is 10-20% worse even after switching from 4G to 3G.

I have to constantly re-download app updates for some stupid fucking reason.

Some apps won't update properly and will grey out, meaning I can't access them or delete them - even AFTER I've reset the phone.

It's glitchy.

It's slow.

I hate it.

It is pretty buggy. I feel like something is up with my bluetooth connection because my car always has the worst playback at times.

I've noticed some very odd bugs on my 7+. having the phone locked in portrait then going to home only for the screen to rotate - and still be locked so i have to unlock it again to rotate it back to portrait. also i agree the notifications system is shit if you don't have force touch - especially dumb as both the iPads and the iphone se that they are selling don't have it.
