is leaving the toilet seat up misogyny?

I just got into this argument some 10 minutes ago, here in the office, there is only 1 girl in the whole floor.

And she used that word :/

I'm not even sure i know what it means anymore

Whether you're a man or woman, do what needs to be done to the toilet in order for you to comfortably use it and go about your business. The world owes you nothing. It takes one second and you're going to (hopefully) wash your hands anyway.

Whenever you get into an argument with a woman think of it as finding a bear in the wild.

Play dead until she gets bored and leaves

Unfortunately there's a strong correlation between people who use the word misogyny and people who have no idea what it means. I wouldn't worry about it.

I have a tiny bladder. I go pee way more than anyone else in my house that needs the seat down to use it does. I leave the seat up out of sheer convenience.

It annoys me as a dude walking into the bathroom to take a shit but the seat is up. The person who puts it up should put it down, I don't want to touch the seat with my hands or do karate to put it down with my foot.

Whenever someone says "it's this easy to put it down", do they fail to realize it's just as easy for them to do it? That's why I just piss in the sink now.

I don't even understand how this is an issue. If it's down and I need it up, I lift it. If it's up and I need it down, I put it down. It takes a second and anyone can do it. It's not hard.

It's a forgetful act is all it is. I doubt you stare at the seat and say "...I'm gonna leave this up... that'll show em".

EVERYTHING DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A THING.

Goddamnnit.

I keep the lid down when the toilet isn't in use. No reason to have it hanging wide open - especially if you just took a huge dump that left some streaks in the bottom of the toilet...

Does she put it up again when she leaves the toilet? Since she's the only female There.
Cause them females can leave some disgusting stuff on the seat and under the seat (blood from tampons that scrape the litt). And when we raise it, we touch that.

Hehe, nah i always lower the seat. I'm a pleaser.

You know what? I didn't have a toilet seat for like two years because I couldn't afford one! Those people should be happy they even have a toilet seat to put down!

its forgetful, maybe even inconsiderate, but she needs to take some incentive to look at the fucking seat before she sits down, personally before i sit on a public toilet i get some paper towels, put soap on them and then i clean the seat,

It's common courtesy sure, but I always found the logic behind the general argument as to why a man should put it down to be stupid. If it's such a simple task for a man to lift the seat and put it back down when done, then why is such a huge burden on women to put the seat down when they go to use it?

The only real good argument as to why it's a man's responsibility is if you agree with the idea that the seat's natural position is down so when they put it up it's their job to put it back to how it should be. Other than that though it's just stupid bullshit and it's certainly not misogyny to leave it up. If it was that would probably be one of the lamest and weakest acts of misogyny you could come up with.

Pee with the toilet seat down and then blame it on crappy aim if someone ever finds out. At least the seat it's still down so no one can complain about that.

It's helpful to put the seat and lid down because things can also fall INTO the toilet when the lid isn't down.

Think of the poor victims of toilet phone. Give a hoot and put the lid down folks.
