Didn't I tell you all it would be a third version of the GBA pokemon games? Bah, everyone was all on the DS hype train and wanted to believe it was a DS game. :p Blech, it's been the case with every series of games, why not the GBA ones?

EDIT: And does anyone else see a movement towards more real time or semi-real times battles? I like this a lot. Haha, and this game is really green, which is kind of weird, but I certainly can't wait for it.

I think Crystal had fully animated sprites so Emerald seems to following that path. Stupidly though, Fire Red and Leaf Green didn't have moving sprites.

My penis is still intact.
So this isn't like Pokemon Yellow/Crystal? Sounds really different, but it is called Emerald which fits in with the Ruby/Sapphire theme.

Oooh, Festa starts in Nagoya eh. Too bad I`m living on the 15th for Tokyo and it starts tommorrow XD.

On that note, the new Haruka/May design is cool. Too bad the guy looks like he`s a rip off from Naruto or Horo Horo from Shaman King.

September 16th: Yamauchi: I'm glad Pokemon Emerald was released today. I needed a new bed mattress stuffed with money.

There's one thing I don't understand - is this an enhanced version of Ruby/Sapphire with all those improvements, or a completely new adventure (with new worlds, cities, pokémons...)?

I haven't played a Pokémon game since Red/Blue, so the scan doesn't say a lot to me. :)

The former. Emerald is to Ruby/Sapphire what Yellow was to Red/Blue - a slightly improved game that will no doubt to a better job of milking the audience than Megaman X2-8. That being said, if you haven't played Ruby/Sapphire, Emerald would then become the best choice to play that particular pokemon arc.

Speaking of localization, it BETTER come in America in March 2005 or so. But I suppose Nintendo of America is in a predicament because this may eat into FR/LG's sales...

In Japan, the sun is red and the moon is yellow.

I'm sort of worried they don't ease up on the GBA releases of Pokémon.

The DS really would need a Pokémon game. And I would need one! Wireless trading over the net, please!
