Spotify CEO Defends Keeping Transphobic Joe Rogan Podcasts Online
Multiple sources inside Spotify described an all-hands meeting in which Spotify CEO Daniel Ek discussed the company’s handling of the controversial podcaster.www.vice.com
This article says Spotify staffers aren't happy with Rogan on the platform and trying to get his content removed in company meetings.
It confirms that the missing episodes were in fact "content moderation decisions" to not have them on.
The article slanders Rogan and one of his guests Abigail Shrier.
He already did today lol. Douglas Murray referred to non-binary as "look at me!" people and then Rogan followed up saying the whole non-binary thing is crazy(I'm paraphrasing).I have to say I'm extremely surprised Rogan didn't cover his bases and had a clause written in the contract to preclude "content moderation decisions". Or maybe he did and it only applies to future content.
Either way, let's hope his lawyers thought this through.
The test, of course, will be if and when he hosts another episode with a guest who voices so-deemed "transphobic" opinions. Then we'll get to see where he really stands.

that's exactly what it is, it's fuckedCancelling / de-platforming is the modern day digital equivalent of book burning. The more they try to censor it, the more drawn to it people will be.
I have never heard of Douglas Murray but this is a great episode.
Yeah, this one with Douglas Murray is good stuff.
Listening now. Great episode.douglas episode is great, everyone should listen
I mean I don't think Rogan would be dumb enough to not outline creative freedom with his content and how it's distributed?

For those who enjoyed the Douglas Murray episode, here are a few other recent appearances of his that are quite insightful.
I wonder if he'd have posted this if he wasn't on Spotify.
Rogan's crazy for hooking up with Spotify. No way his podcast stays the same with these kind of people around. All the blue-haired fella has to say is: “I find Joe's comments problematic” or ”Joe's recent comments make me feel reeally uncomfortable” and they'll drag Rogan in for a meeting.
Didn't Spotify know what they were getting into? They didn't pay 100 mil to hire a guy who's very safe and straying from controversial topics in his interviews. Quite the opposite. It's a lose-lose scenario for them if they heavily censor Joe or decide to part ways and lose money.
I wonder if he'd have posted this if he wasn't on Spotify.
It's possible, but Joe's MO has always been to address these things on his next podcasts and not via written statement. That's how he's always handled it before, he'll bring it up on his next episode.Of course he would have.
Joe seems nervous
Spotify Employees Demanding Editorial Oversight Over Joe Rogan
A group of Spotify staffers are now reportedly pushing to introduce direct editing oversight over The Joe Rogan Experience.www.digitalmusicnews.com
The fuck, man..this isn’t looking good.
I feel bad for joe. The left hates him for having conservative guests and having been doing everything they possibly can to slander/cancel him, and now the conservatives hate him for selling out to spotify and censoring his guest line up (no more proud boys and conspiracy theorists). Meanwhile in reality, both sides are painfully fucking retarded.
