Dude, its your first time visiting there. You want to have the smoothest transition as possible. Plus, you are going to live with host family. The last of worries should be transportation. One cab ride is not a big deal. Then when you get settle with your host family etc etc. You can take public transportation and learn your way around the city.
hyogre is looked down on in this thread and pretty much everywhere else. well, except for phono :/wat!

Anyone here knows the bus/subway system of Seoul? I gotta know how to get there otherwise I'm in big trouble.
You're better off posting that gif for someone like Yurihuh. well alright then. I have no idea who these people are, but that pic was really cute. idk.
Is anything expensive by Western standards in Korea? When I see prices of things while watching Running Man and stuff almost everything is so cheap. Like around 20-30% of what it would cost here.Download the jihachul app for android or ios for getting around the subway system, which is very easy. But yeah, cabs aren' _that_ expensive. If it's your first time and they live in Seoul, just take a cab.
That's really good to know.
Here's my address, in case any of you wanna help me lol

Whoa whoa whoa, don't listen to anyone telling you to take a cab from Gimpo. Taxi's might be cheap in Korea, but it will cost you a grip to get from Gimpo to your spot. It looks near on Google maps, but the distance is even further when you factor in traffic which there will be.
Take the bus. After you get out of customs/baggage and you are in the airport there should be a Express Bus Terminal counter inside the airport. Go to the counter and speak to one of the nice ladies's at the counter, they will speak English, and either tell them you want to a ticket for Seongbuk or to be safer, print out a map of where you are staying and ask them for the right bus to get near there.
After you get to your stop, then take a taxi and show the driver a picture of the apartment complex and say "Hillstate Apartment" but say it with a engrish accent so it comes out like, "Hirrstate Apatu".

I can't believe your host family wouldn't pick you up but yeah I hope you have their phone number. Good luck lol
Print this out as well.

Please don't pay attention to the challenged ones ITT, especially those who stan for a horse with the IQ of a cumrag. Hyoyeon is beautiful.
She looks like a light skinned LaGuerta from Dexter.

I tried that. Not sure if I'm doing it correctly.
Accordingly to Google Maps, the bus numbered 6100 (IIRC) will deliver me really close to my house. Can I fully trust this info?
The bigger problem is, how will I know when to get off? My korean is pretty lame and I will not, for sure, understand anything that the woman says (announcing the name of each stop).
I don't see any Sohyun here.
added son dam-bi to the OP
And so pretty. She's transparently all business, but you just want to let her play you for a fool.
not sure how many people like them but I added CNBlue to the op.
