As unveiled during the ID@Xbox showcase, get a fresh look at this Lies of P: Overture trailer to glimpse the story of this upcoming DLC for the Soulslike game. Inspired by the familiar story of Pinocchio, Lies of P is an action Souls-like game set in the dark, Belle Époque-inspired city of Krat. Once a beautiful city, Krat has become a living nightmare as deadly puppets run amok and a plague sweeps the land. Play as P, a puppet who must fight his way through the city on his unrelenting journey to find Geppetto and finally become human.​

More enjoyable to me than Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring (the only From Software games I've played and finished, tried Demons Souls Remake and DNF'd it)

Hope DLC is at least 10 hours long though

Still EASILY the best souls like out there. And its not even close. The atmosphere, characters, environments, goes a long way for me. The level of polish too.

Still sad it wasnt the wizard of oz spin off thing heh.

I figure if we ever get that, it will be a standalone and not a DLC. But I agree. Lies of P is the best soulslike I've ever played by a significant margin.

Worse lead character in an otherwise decent game. I mean could they make a more effeminate looking man? I want to be a real boy…girl..I’m not sure. Level design is rather boxy, all enemies looking like tin men didn’t help either (then again I didn’t finish it, could have been more enemy variety later). Still tho, good first effort from a mobile dev. But not even remotely close to being as good as Bloodborne.

Most the environments; some areas were pretty bad.

In any case, that was a great trailer. I don't like DLC for 99% of games, but I could see playing through this.

He doesn't even talk, or if he does it's not very often...

So not real sure what there is to hate.

Character design is feminine, but who cares.

I still have to pick up the main game. I was hoping it'd show up on Humble Bundle, it just feels like a game you would see there. Knowing my luck, I'll buy it then it will be on Humble the month after.

Bought Lies of P day 1, loved it, got the first plat trophy on GAF afaik. DLC looks lit as fuck, didn't need footage for this to be an instabuy, can't wait!

Still want them to follow through on the ending tease for a sequel though...

I’m currently playing through the base game for the first time and I’ve just saved that Venigni guy. It’s decent enough, but I’m not convinced that I’ll finish the game yet. It just seems to be lacking a bit of something special.

It’s annoying to have to travel back to the hotel to level up for one thing, and it doesn’t have the same quality of level/enemy design of From games.

That not that different to most Souls games, including Bloodborne where you need to do that

I will however maintain the last area of this game is fucking horrible and plain unfair

This is a series of recurring design decisions and not an instance in FromSoftware's games. At least at the start, in late game, and all of New Game + Lies of P allows leveling at Stargazers.

It's very much worth it. The story is better presented than in From Software games and I think it had a better pay off at the end while building into something larger playing out. I'd say it is a worthy successor of Bloodborne while still having its own identity.

The game is better than Bloodborne.
