I have a strong hate for extraction shooters.

Neat, a lot of people don't. Sometimes they are more fun than just your typical Arena Shooter, Hero Shooter, Battle Royale, or Objective based shooters. There's a place for everything. Helldivers 2 is amazing fun for many and I honestly hope that Marathon is similar in nature as I'd be more likely to play something like this..

That's why I said IF true. Destiny 2 expansions are already announced for Summer and Winter months. And IF marathon was shown at state of play with a release date, nothing below 2026 would make sense to avoid cannibalization.

They'll be running concurrently whenever Marathon releases. They are developed by separate teams as well so I don't see why this would affect the scope of a Destiny expansion.
