Ah, thank you Donny
Guess after 'heatwave' the next meme will be that the Japanese weather is too cloudy, huh

I imagine they'll make a push in to the non tech-savvy market in the west.I'm especially wondering how it will affect the rest of the world, since we now know that the current models are obsolete, but don't have a release date for the new models. Like, no tech-savvy person will buy a 3DS until then.
Miyake said that the mobile games are aimed at people who have never played Dragon Quest and enjoy games on a more casual basis, as well as nostalgic players.
"We've always wanted to have [Dragon Quest] available on the most popular console or gaming machine available at the time," Miyake said. "If you look at the modern gaming scape, a lot of people play games on the mobile platform. That's why we felt Dragon Quest would be appropriate to bring to that very popular game device, [mobile]."
Sinobi is expecting 38k for One first week.
This could be the estimated initial shipment.

Can't wait for the inevitable "Japanese XB1 sales are 4x PS4 sales" thread.
First Day Sellthrough:
[PSV] Toukiden: Extreme # <ACT> (Koei Tecmo) (¥6.264) - 50%
[PSP] Toukiden: Extreme # <ACT> (Koei Tecmo) (¥5.184) - 30%
Vita version >>>>>> PSP version
It's an expanded release, not a new game, so the effort here to get the PSP version running is probably pretty low.How much is the shipment for Toukiden Kiwami?
Also why they are still bother with PSP version wtf
It just dragging the game down -_-"

Oh yeah, so Japan really isn't getting the 2DS now I suppose.
how tf is 50k in 3 weeks after launch solidCan't wait for Xbone's solid if not spectacular sales
X1 deserves better than this. wtf Japan
What happened? Didn't see anything above.
I wonder how popular Titanfall will be in JPN? There were huge queues at TGS last year if I recall.
Just that Shinobi expects a 35,000 shipment for XB1 for launch. Not sales, shipment. So it will probably sell less.
I think "solid, if not spectacular" is a quote or something thatwas said by someone in Microsoft.how tf is 50k in 3 weeks after launch solid

I'll be doing Road to TGS in a moment, but here's the new mobile news.
GREE's TGS line-up (in English, apparently contains two new games, one of which is Gundam Spirits, and the other I can't figure out): http://corp.gree.net/jp/en/news/press/2014/0828-01.html
GREE TGS website (in Japanese, but has screenshots): http://jp.product.gree.net/tgs2014/
GREE's sales and income has been decreasing since last year; its financial situation is getting worser quarter after quarter: http://corp.gree.net/jp/en/news/press/2014/0813-01.html
They are also forecasting YOY decrease in 2015. I guess the transition from mobile platform to mobile developer did not go as expected. The only GREE game in the Top 25 grossing apps is Fishing Star, and it's 7 (July 2013). All the other games disappeared from the chart or never entered.

Yes, both GREE and DeNA have largely failed to navigate the feature phone -> smartphone divide.
Has this been posted before? Surprisingly low attach rate for MD Sonics.
The CG in the Chaos Rings III trailer is freaking me out:

Notsora looks considerably older than he does in-game
They also confirm more Western mobile releases soon, but I put that in a separate thread.

What is that?
Media Create sales of the following franchises from 1991 - 2004/06/13;
Mario Kart
Metroid
Super Mario
Animal Crossing
Ace Attorney
Sonic the Hedgehog
Monster Rancher
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Mega Man
Dynasty Warriors
Interesting.
Sonic sales in MD are indeed very disappointing.
If someone can translate all the names, would be nice.
I think I'd be willing to do Dragon Quest VII on mobile, if they refuse to bring over the 3DS version. :/

The feelings every time I see DS Lite's first week, knowing how things were going to be for years in Japan. Oooh man.
DS Lite had been selling out every bit of shipment for over one year after launch, and the launch week was not an exception.
