There would still be a concern that primarily touch games wouldn't be feasible on such a set up, especially if the dispararity is between 1280x768 and 320x240. That would make getting mobile content more difficult than Nintendo should want it to be.
Unless both screens had touch but that might not mesh well with clamshell design.
Well, yeah. In the case this isn't just a coincidence and that the next handheld still features two screens, I doubt the bottom screen will be 1200x768. On 3DS, top screen is 400x240, while bottom is 320x240. If top screen is indeed 1200x768, the difference will be much bigger for sure. I doubt it'll be more than 480p, even.
With the 3DS though the main difference is aspect ratio(well that an 3D). In this case it would probably mean different sized pixels unless the screen sizes were scaled with resolution.
