No idea why people are pulling to have a series go backwards just for some petty console war win. Not fans in the first place I guess? Not going to happen anyway.
Gee, relax. It is just a joke. I though it was pretty obvious.

Do people really believe this?
Persona games on Vita = 2
Persona games on 3DS = 0
Not that I expect Persona on Vita, but releasing the new entry on a portable they avoided to grew/move the fanbase there?
Yeah, no. Persona is basically a Sony series at this point...
People are happy and all with Vita sales and stuff, but I just want to see how things are going to be after Sunday when they announce Persona 5 exclusive for the 3DS.

i wish we had Vita TV numbers separated in the OP. That's gonna be an interesting experiment to watch in the next days and weeks ahead.
Now while I can question their taste in FPS because the last good CoD game was WaW, it's not surprising to see CoD do well. They love their FPS. While it may not sell gangbusters like out in the west, Japan totally doesn't hate western games/Call of Duty is #2 on the software chart?
Da fudge (in Japan)?

Is God Eater more popular than Soul Sacrifice? I don't remember Soul Sacrifice giving the Vita such a big bump.
~42k opening week sales for Vita TV is expected yet worrisome. This means week 2 sales should be ~20k, and it'll quickly find a baseline of ~7k or lower. In 2014 we might be looking at 3-4k.

Yeah, its just set for 2014 for now. But we'll see if the VitaTV drops like a rock next week or not (how much is "dropping like a rock" by the way?).You're right, I did forget Phantasy Star. Still, that title doesn't have a release date as far as I know, so it matters little for the short term. Freedom Wars is not going to do it.
I think it's hillarious we're having a discussion about how Vita is doomed during the best week Vita had since launch and only the 2nd week it managed to outsell the 3ds. It reminds me of the 'now, wait till next week then it'll totally drop' comments we had from February until pretty much the summer.
Guys no one is saying Vita is now an incredibly popular machine that will take the world and Japan by storm, so no need to react with similar hyperbole like 'Vita TV is gonna drop to 10k next week'. I think metalslimmer put it best, all things considered Vita is doing well. Looking at it objectively of course, it's nowhere near having a proper healthy life. I think next year is gonna be interesting.
It doesn't play checkers.I don't see how this follows logically?
The system now has some momentum behind it and has strong third-party sales potential.

Good job Vita, and Wii U's baseline seems to be higher than it used to be.
I don't disagree with you at all, but I was just wondering what the 2nd Persona game on Vita was?

Sadly some people actually want the game to be 3DS exclusive for the lols or its their favourite platform. My conclusion is that they are not Persona fans.
Frankly people who are up in arms about Persona being on any platform that they don't want it to be on (3DS, Sony, Mobile, whatever) are a scourge on the Earth and should be purged from cultured society. Get a goddamn grip.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: There's a pretty decent chance that Persona 5 ends up on 3DS, and the internet will be a war zone if it comes to pass as so.

I don't care what it comes out on, as long as it isn't packed to the gills with microtransactions (though not on smartphones would be optimal). Oh, and as long as it gets localized and released in America.

We do have a separate number for VTV and PSV. Maybe you didn't see it clearly

No, there really isn't.
The same thing applies to those who said the game will be 3DS exclusive in serious manner too. PS3 is the most logical choice of platform (userbase, fan base, HD engine), anything beside that like PS4 or Wii U are excellent bonus. My sincere hope is for another HD JRPG, not a title that'll dubbed as x platform killer or something.Yes. Because having a given platform as your favorite completely disqualifies you from also being the fan of a certain series.
This brand of closed-minded jackassery is what makes the internet such a headache to read sometimes.

And no matter what platform it releases on, it will probably be a good game, sell well to its fanbase (it's been a while since we've had a fresh new game in the series), and those who choose to be bitter and ridiculous will suffer the consequences. In the end their self-defeating nonsense will resolve, I just wish we could skip the stupidity.
Why not, exactly? The 3DS is the dominating handheld worldwide, and sales of Atlus's games on the device have been extremely good. Shin Megami Tensei IV, especially, was a great success. On top of that, Nintendo seems very ready and willing to help Atlus in terms of promotions and marketing, which could be seen as a great boon. Finally, Atlus is now part of Sega, and Sega has had great ties to Nintendo, with the recent Sonic: Lost World, as a sign of that partnership.
I'm not saying it's guaranteed, but it's definitely possible.
Because I'm telling you for a fact that I know it is not on the 3DS, never was, and was never considered for it. And I know for a fact that I know better than you do when it comes to this.
Why on earth would I be happy for a videogame to go visually backwards and an ATLUS title onto region locked hardware at that which offers no hardware advantages over Vita? I sure am fucking glad SMT4 is only on 3DS too by the way as a UK resident. Fucking splendid stuff right there.
I mean Golden was just a slight bump up from PS2 to give a good look at P4 again (and actually see faces!), Catherine had some tasty visuals and I can't wait to see where they can have taken their PS3 level assets to next. I don't think thats particularly weird as someone that really enjoyed the whole package of P3 and P4.
But hey, war never changes.
At least you could said it is for Wii U because I'm getting sick of having another JRPG on subpar machine that only comfort publisher in their comfort zone instead of trying to be ambitious with an HD game. Why not, exactly? To me, that more or less confirms it's a PS3 exclusive right now.
Wah wah wah wah console warrior bullshit wah wah wah
The game will sell fine on any platform it's released, and the developers will make sure it's kickass no matter the platform. I'm sure somebody will care about how much you hate the horribly underpowered ripoff of a console that is the 3DS, somebody, somewhere, anywhere in the world, because it sure isn't anywhere in this thread.
EDIT: And there it is below me too! Another thread turns to shit by console warriors. Great job guys, really upping the ante of discussion here.

How do you read one thing and then jump to a conclusion not mentioned at all? Maybe this is why you were set on a silly notion like Persona being 3DS exclusive after constant outings on HD platforms.
It can just as easily be a PS3/X360/Vita/Steam title. Well except WiiU. Of course.
Persona 5 Xone exclusive confirmed.
Can we please stop the derail which happens every time someone "speculates" about <insert unannounced game> being on <insert unexpected platform>. It's stupid, it's boring because it's the same shit over and over, and it has nothing to do with sales.

Fair enough. I'll drop the speculation on the subject.
Sunday seems so far away.

Did saying any of this make.things better? I have my reasons, I owned 3DS and Vita. I'll buy it regardless of platform anyway but seeing a developer with such resource still develop a game for handheld when other option is available will be disappointing. Please that attitude of yours using ad hominem just make thing even more sour.Wah wah wah wah console warrior bullshit wah wah wah

SMT IV is pretty ambitious itself considering the scope for a handheld, but it is proven to be heavily gimped by 3DS weak hardware. If every game could have the quality of FEA battle animation (with feet) I will be a happy man. That's some pretty interesting terminology you're using. You can be extremely ambitious with a handheld game, and the 3DS is certainly more than capable to deliver the type of experience JRPG fans want.
Going off of no knowledge of the reception of the Vita TV outside of these first week sales im going to predict the thing sells on average less than 5K per week by end of January. Also God Eater 2 will see absolute tiny bump over holidays. I still believe peoples hope for this system is pointless, even despite pulling decent first week sales for certain genres and titles, I really don't think the system will ever grow to a respectable userbase. Same goes for Wii U.

Vita sales are up 60% from this YTD compare to last year at the same time. Every other system has declined, some massively so. I really don't get why people want to lump it with the Wii U when it's been a much more successful system. Obviously the Vita has been the furthest thing from a success but people have been writing it dead for a while in here and the little bugger proves people wrong once in a while.
