Wfan brought up a good point.

Tebow shares an agent with Cespedies and this could be part to resign him.

I'm a Gators fan so by default I am a Tebow fan, although somewhat begrudgingly. For someone who refused to play any position other than quarterback. Why the fuck is he going to play baseball?

Agreed. Cespedes is going to stay a Met for next season, he's the primary factor in them making a playoff run this season. The Wilpons are not that stupid, and are in better financial footing than they were during the whole Madoff mess, so they can afford to pay him.

May god have Mercy on the Coupons if Cespedes leaves. The fans sure won't.

Because he's functionally brain dead. The real reason is because he's a media whore and needs to stay relevant.

Because his God is an awesome God.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
I hope he joins the MMA after this and takes a knee to the forehead for Jesus

I live like 8 miles from where the Port St Lucie Mets play, so maybe I'll go check it out on one of the dollar beer nights

So thats why Mets was trending, I was wondering why people cared about the Mets.

They were in the World Series last year and are in a good position to return to the playoffs this year (rip Strasburg). They are currently New York's most successful major pro sports team.

I thank them for not allowing the Braves this embarrassment.

^No skip bayless, so I'm betting under.

Well I'm obviously showing I'm a casual sports fan, I honestly forgot they were in the World Series last year.

My cousin is a huge Mets fan, the loss crushed him. I'm sure I will hear from him later rant about this to me.

Steve a smith is still on first take I'm sure he'll tsundere say "why is this topic here again" and scream about it every day for weeks

I know the reaction is "lol media whore Tim," but really, why not give him a flyer? Worst case scenario, he bombs out and you wasted a little bit of money and made some off of the media circus.

Scouting reports say the dude can't hit a curveball and has average fielding abilities with a below average arm (surprise). There is no real upside other than his fame. He'll be lucky to make to to AAA. If he wanted to be a pro athlete so bad he should've tried switching to TE or RB in football.

They already look like fools for letting Daniel Murphy go last offseason. They won't do it again. They're pretty sensitive to criticism.

He can't catch either.

By pretty much any and every baseball metric, aspiring outfielder Timothy R. Tebow did not have a successful stint in the Arizona Fall League. His .194 batting average (.242 slugging) included 20 strikeouts in 70 plate appearances. But when it comes to attracting interest (guilty) in otherwise meaningless games, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, best-selling author, and regular miracle-performer Tim Tebow is a star.

So, frankly, there was never much mystery about which Tebow Mets manager Terry Collins was referring to when he told media members at the Winter Meetings on Tuesday that, “I can tell you, I certainly hope you will see Tim Tebow in some of our [spring training] games.”

Collins praised Tebow as a “big boy” who “know how to win games,” but when pressed about whether the 29-year-old deserves a spring training spot despite a snowball’s chance in H-E-double-hockey-sticks of making the majors, he doubled down on the, hm, ancillary benefits of Tebow mania.

"I will tell you if he’s not in our camp, I’ll get him over. I think he’s a name in Florida. He’s a star in Florida. He should be. I think it would be fun to have Tim come over.

And certainly one thing about our players, they’re athletes, too. They’re fans, too. They would probably like to know how to run a quarterback sneak one day."

God damn it, Mets.

Hey if the mets want to turn their baseball teams into an AHL or independent hockey team go right ahead with the carny.

Just don't tell me they care about winning.

Have you ever been to a minor league baseball game?

They get people in with Star Wars nights and dizzy bat races between innings.

Seriously, if he gets a few ABs in ST I don't really care.

Maybe people will realize he's a joke and he'll fade away into nothingness shortly thereafter.

I'm surprised he even hit ~.200 in the Arizona League, to be honest.
