But I always experiment throughout playthrough and use whatever I’m in the mood for. More reason to dick around in expeditions and grind shit, having to always need mats.

Since we can carry two weapons now, I'm thinking these two loadouts:
Gunlance + LBG
Swaxe + HBG

Really makes me wish there were more ranged options.

Should I ever go back, probably dual blades to reacclimatize myself, although I don't know if the new flashy skills take you into hammer zones.

First playthrough is always with CB, second with Bow, so either CB + Bow, or CB + CB There's something so fulfilling and addicting about Charge Blade.

The other guys in my group usually bring Hunting Horn, Sword & Shield, Light/Heavy Bowgun. Works out well!

Naturally charge blade and hammer. Then again I also love greatsword. And I've been getting into SnS lately... then there's also lance. Gunlance is great too...so are dual blades. And I do want to get better with Switchaxe. I've also always wanted to play bow and love the new system with no ammo crap.

I'm usually a Charge Blade main but want to do something different this time. So I'm committing to Dual Blades, Gunlance and Switchaxe this time around. I've never used Gunlance or Switchaxe before, so that will give the game a whole new feel and keep it exciting.

I've tried Dual Blades a few times but I suck with them so I'm determined to master them this go around.

I'm a "noob" when it comes to Monster Hunter (I played a couple hours of World) but that's it so I'm gonna mess around with everything.

I believe Sword n Shield is (generally) considered the most beginner friendly. Good balance of offense and defense, quick attacks and combos and doesn't require sheathing your weapon to use items.
