Well, at least he admits that he doesn't present his ideas in a very clear/entertaining fashion.

Anyway, of course he has a point, though an oft-repeated one, in the beginning: with the emphasis on shiny gfx tech, game mechanics have been relegated to a minor concern and most devs just use identikit solutions.

This is not ripping on the game industry, first of all, except for maybe a few criticisms in the beginning.

Second of all, these ideas are neither original (Maddox himself has already talked about most of this stuff in previous updates) nor funny. I feel worse having read that.

Worst update since the "cinnamon bun farts" episode (which makes this essay look like comedy gold).
