New Xbox device coming in 2026, known as Xbox Prime

He's a CoD leaker who's been leaking stuff for years. I don't know how accurate a console rumor/leak would be coming from him, but with Xbox now owning CoD I guess it wouldn't be that wild if he gets some info about the new Xbox. Still, this is something that others have said or hinted at before so yeah.

We’ll it goes in line with Microsoft changing the naming to something new every time.

Xbox
Xbox 360 Core
Xbox 360 Premium
Xbox 360 Elite
Xbox 360 Slim
Xbox One
Xbox One S
Xbox One X
Xbox Series S
Xbox Series X
Xbox Prime

Prime makes it sound like it’s an Amazon device but it’s still a decent name compared to the other names. So I don’t believe this.

Why does it feel like every week there's a new "insider/leaker" who comes out with something and then tells you to "take it with a grain of salt".

Social media has made everyone too comfortable with pretending to have some sort of "super duper source".
It make them earn some followers I guess.

You forgot Xbox 360 E. Arcade also replaced Core.

A 6 year generation would be ridiculous in this day and age.
They should’ve pulled the plug last year. Sales numbers showed end of generation decline already back in 2023. But they kept going and now it’s 2025 and there is no mid generation refresh excitement and Series S is making games skip the platform and they need to release games on other platforms to not go under.

Exactly. It's not confusing enough for a Microsoft product.

Even if they did release a next gen system next year, no developers would support it with exclusives.

Therefore it would only be running games that would have to support the Series S anyway, so this fixes nothing.

At least wait until PS6 launches, and that won’t be until 2028/29.

You are just jealous because your uncle doesn’t work at Nintendo.

What a mess, so 6 variations in total?
And how many double/tripple dipped from new variations or limited editions etc? And then the RROD replacement program, were those counted as shipped too? I wonder who many actual unique real users the platform had.
I bought a Core, got a refurbished replacement twice, then a final rrod and then I bought an Elite.

I probably went through 6 of them from that stupid defect. Biggest debacle in gaming history. Then it was followed up with Kinect and the always online deal with it, which was followed up with Series X/S parity demands. If one tried their best to tank a brand they couldn’t have done a better job.

Waiting for Sony would be the stupidest thing ever. They’ll be fully buried in another 3-4 years, even just waiting 1 year is too much. They really needed a new generation box in 2024, announced weeks after PS5 Pro was unveiled. And no mandate to have anything running on Series S. Just have a system requirement box on games like on PC, could include PC too, they want to go the PC route anyway.
System requirement:
Minimum - Xbox Series X
Recommended - Xbox Prime
Optimal - PC RTX 5090

Xbox Series X is decent hardware, Microsoft’s problem (as it’s been for over a decade) is software.
Nintendo also cut Wii U's life short after it failed to gain any significant traction in the market.

Cutting the generation short would destroy any last bits of fanbase they still have and hardware wise they wouldn't be able to make a better box than PS5 Pro. It's the same thing that killed Sega's consoles. And without Series S their sales numbers would've looked truly abysmal. Xbox is done, their best course of action is releasing games on Playstation which they're moving towards.
