They were offline for over an hour now, first 30 mins matchmaking close to impossible, some people did start playing but they were kicked. I’ve managed to check the base but not any furter

I played 3 matches on the Series S.

It played extremely well. The first two matches were kinda bad, because everyone was just learning stuff.

But on the third, although one player disconnected at the start, it was awesome. We got to the day 2 boss, it was Margit and we almost won, but I fucked up defending and we both died.

I tried all character’s and the eagle tank dude was my favorite.

Anyway, I liked a lot and I will definitely buy it.

I had no slowdowns or any type of lag and issues.

My only complain is that the stage loading is a little too long.

I hope that the game is a success, it has so much potential, specially if they keep adding new maps, character’s and new stuff.

My favourite thing about Souls games is the exploration. This takes that all away. You're just sprinting into fights over and over again. No time to think, prepare or any of that. Just straight into battle.

It plays well, and I'm sure it's going to be a hit but it's not my particular cup of tea.

I can get into the round table hold area and mess around but it boots me out when I initiate matchmaking.

Love the movement of the characters that don't roll aka bloodborne movement.

Seriously, why are these people so dumb.

Hopefully this game teaches From normies how diverse the builds can be. All I see are battlemages in Elden Ring proper.

Hard to switch builds in the regular game when you can't respec and game is huge.

aint nobody got time for that GIF

Looking forward to trying different builds in Night Reign though.

Not only does this feel unbelievably janky, I am lost on the entire concept of this. Went in with an open mind, but this is... really, really bad. It feels and plays like a terrible fan mod. Tons of copy/paste enemies as if you're in Lost Izalith, sprint spam, and nothing to do except "explore" and get into fights with mobs until eventually a boss appears (seemingly random). I can't believe they want $40 for this.

Hmmmm....is it fun to play though? Or does it just feel kinda meaningless.

With Concord, it was kinda like that....where, ok, mechanically it's fine, but I got my fix in an entire weekend. There's no long-term hooks to keep you playing for very long.

Yeah this is definitely looking to be not my type of game….the entire battle royal mechanic not my idea of good time.

I highly enjoyed both Elden Ring and its Shadow of Erdtree expansion but this definitely pass from me.

I have close to 1000 hours in hours in FromSoft games but this definately feels like a miss based on one network test I played.

I just don't understand why they couldn't make it a roguelike where you aren't running against time. Let me clear the camps and fight minibosses as much as I want before fighting the main boss with my decked out gear.

I also don't understand why it has to be 1 or 3 players and no option to play as duo. Not to mention this being a multiplayer game released in 2025 by one of the most acclaimed developers out there and they release this without crossplay? I have friends on PC and Xbox who like the base game and would probably play this at launch but since there are no way for us to even play together, that seems like 3 less copies sold for FromSoft.

Lastly, the performance was ass on PS5. The performance was ass in base game network test also and it didn't improve for the launch. I doubt anything will change significantly this time either which would be a massive issue for a multiplayer game like this. Well, maybe there is a PS4 version to save us who play on PS5.

I have 700 hours logged in Elden Ring alone, I saw a preview of this and quickly realized that this game just isn’t made for me. I guess they’re targeting a different audience here. Fortnite crowd perhaps.

How does it play solo? Just a 15 minute stressed out Elden Ring session where you’re forced into the center of the circle for a boss fight?

I wish its was straight up dungeon crawler similar to Bloodborne’s Chalice dungeons without any battle royal or roguelike junk mechanics.

And just like some of the cursed chalice dungeons in Bloodborne it would weaken you one way or another and fighting unique boss and enemies specifically made for the dungeon.

bender

What time is it?
Servers went down in my first session and only made it to the first boss. Can't say I'm a fan so far.

Pretty damn fun. Unfortunately, it's only really fun if you have (somewhat) competent teammates.

Run 1 was almost a W but got the final boss down to like 15% and he did one attack and wiped all of us out in one swoop. Exciting run tho.
Run 2 was shit cuz one dude just never stuck with us and kinda wandered off and just wasn't a part of the team. Kinda shitty experience.
Run 3 was a W. Found some good weapons as a Wylder and had a duchess teammate who was great. Teamwork was spot on. Awesome run.
Run 4 got cut short at night 2 boss. The 3 Knights boss is really fucking annoying to deal with. Also the morgott out of nowhere event is pretty tough.

The game is fun and I'll be playing again tomorrow. It's tough to say how the 1.0 game will be like since they said there's gonna be a bunch more content and a bunch more randomization. Thing is though, if you got a shitty teammate, it really drags down the experience. I wish they kinda balanced the game better for solo (not that I tried, I'm not sure how) or at least made a duos mode too. Overall very fun but unsure of its staying power after you play it for a few weeks or months.

This is what I experienced during my run. Two of us sticking together and the third player OFO'ing.

Got to the final boss, but unfortunately a teammate got disconnected during the boss of day 1, so it was just me and another guy through day 2 and 3/final boss, We got him down to 30% health but it was a bit much without a 3rd, especially when he splits into 3.

I really want to like it, but it's really a completely different game with Elden Ring's assets and that disappoints me. Not just because of expectations, but it just doesn't feel great to play. For me the most jarring part is how arcadey it feels to have unlimited sprint, no fall damage, wall jumping, and then as soon as you swing a weapon it's Elden Ring weighty slowness. Whoever designed the bosses must have loved Ornstein and Smough, because almost every one I've fought has multiple named health bar enemies in them. They are numerous and decently fast, though many of their attacks and your attacks are weighty. They feel like Elden Ring bosses and their movesets are basically the same.

The exploration part of the gameplay feels cheap as well, you get to run around a map that shrinks over time but does not feel like it's created to be explored. The forts/mines I've found myself in are pointless except to get some upgrades and fight a horde of enemies. There is no payoff to the exploration though, and the map feels very hollow. Look but don't touch kind of hollow.

There is some progression with unlockable relics that act like a loadout you can equip (each one is permanent) and it gives you some bonuses to start out, but I didn't get a ton of them and I'm not 100% what other progression there is, so I won't speak praise or ill of that. It's very much a roguelite.

Overall I'd say if you liked Elden Ring, there is nearly zero correlation. It's hard to know how you'll feel about this game, this is definitely one that needs a demo.

Yeah this is definitely looking to be not my type of game….the entire battle royal mechanic not my idea of good time.

People keep saying it a battle royal but I am not understanding that. It feels a lot more like a dungeon crawler to me (which normally I really like) but a roguelite version that is basically on a timer for boss fights. Elden Ring is a 10/10 masterpiece IMO, and though SotE was a step down I still loved it. There is very little souls DNA in this game, and the little it has seems shoehorned in. If that's what you're looking for, probably a safe skip. But if you're into multiplayer arena games or dungeon crawlers with friends, it might be fun. This game more than any other in recent memory, absolutely needs a trial or a demo or people are going to feel like they got burned.

It's really annoying one person can drop and it doesn't seem to change the scaling. I don't know this for sure, but this happened to me. And since people can't join partway through, you are basically screwed.

This. Never made it past day 2 end boss where I played duo almost all the way with someone as one player disconnected. Half of the people I got matched with didn't know how to revive teammates. It's super chaotic when everyone either runs away in their own direction or spam markers. But I understand what they're going for, it's literally arcade Elden Ring on steroids, and with a team in sync and some knowledge of the map this will be amazing. Definitely coming back for the next slot

Mostly because wall of fire will keep close in and you have limited time to explore and find gears before boss show up.

I don’t like this idea because entire reason I like Elden Ring is explore freely at my own pace.

The last session was stable. But the first one yesterday was pretty much canceled, servers were offline for 2 hrs out of 3 and when they came back it was impossible to match, at least on playstation. So I get why some people were venting, especially those in 3-6 am PT.

Sounds like a pass from me

No cross play?

No ps5 pro enhancements?

Just seems like quickly slapped together cash grab.

Sad to see, because an Elden Ring co-op pvpve type game could be pretty awesome but sounds like this ain’t it

Yeah I just took a backseat and prayed someone would be a leader and pop markers lol. It was about a 50/50 chance with that. The game really shines when you get some synergies going too. I had a flamberge (w/bleed), my teammate got a rivers of blood, and I got the passive to increase atk power with bleed procs. It was wonderful.

Also kind of annoyed the game doesn't look you take screenshots or record lol. Couple shots look really cool.

yeah another thing is RNG on drops. On the other hand, I like I was using weapons I never touched in ER like flails... there are new ones as well and likely new ashes of war. Also this being a brand new map, despite all the new traversal mechanics I was constantly getting lost wasting time in between fights. I'm sure this will only grow on me

This is exactly right. A large amount of people are mislabelling this entire game due to a single mechanic, the wall of fire, and it is causing nothing but confusion to those who are curious.

I was able to do a few rounds earlier. I can see the potential, especially with a consistent group of friends to play with. It'll certainly be much better when everything gets ironed out connection-wise. I rage quit after an hour because just as my sessions would get started and into a nice flow, I would get disconnected from the server every time. Never made it past night 1 soley because of connection issues. Hopefully tomorrow is a smoother experience.

From what I was able to digest, I like how brutal the difficulty is right away. The duchess class is fun, despite having such low health at level 1.

I really don't like the powers, they are a bit shit and you can't really practise them in the sparring yard
