Nintendo Switch 2 has the greatest first year line-up in gaming history!

I wouldn't call it the strongest ever, but it is definitely a rock solid lineup so far, with plenty more games likely coming that we don't know about yet.

It's better than most, but not so far not quite as epic as Switch 1's legendary 2017 slate.

I was more of a Genesis guy, but SNES has 1000% the best first year line-up ever, even better then the Switch:
In release Order (North America, Japan's lineup was even better):
Super Mario World
F-Zero
ActRaiser
Super Ghouls and Ghosts
Final Fantasy IV
Super Castlevania IV
Contra III: The Alien Wars
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Street Fighter II
TMNT IV: Turtles in Time
..... and then Mario Kart is released like 14 days after the 1 year anniversary of the launch just barely missing being included

The single best Mario, Zelda, Contra and Turtles games ever made, + a totally serviceable port of the most popular game in the world at the time (SFII) and arguably one of the best Final Fantasies + Castlevanias ever made. All in under a year. And they were all exclusive (Street Fighter 2 later got a worse Genesis port).

Switch 2 has a ton of work to beat August 1991 to September 1992 SNES line-up.

Not sure if sarcastic but most of these are all instabuys for me so... yes you are correct. Especially MP4, Hyrule Warriors 3 and DKB.

Just wish the prices were more affordable lol.

The disrespect this forum has for Switch 2 is unacceptable

A good launch lineup would imply all these games are playable on S2 launch day....so just Enhanced ports and Mario Kart....and still no date on Metroid Prime 4. They have a decent Roadmap but a rather weak Launch IMO.

Maybe we can only count the 1 or 2 months left in 2000 as the first year.
Perhaps that's the rules
Otherwise we're cheating ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
When I think of "first year", I think of 12 months. So October 2000 to September 2001. FF X, for example, is December of 2001. 14 is greater than 12. That's the only criteria I was posting with reference to, all based on USA perspective for me personally. It's all arbitrary anyway, though.
