No Xbox fan should be hurt by Xbox expanding to more devices only the trolls & warriors will be hurt

With Sony and Xbox porting everything to pc, true exclusivity doesn’t exist anymore (except for Nintendo).

I have all consoles, but I use my Xbox the most because I like the controller and interface better. I’m perfectly fine with less exclusivity.
The difference is Sony isn't doing day and date with PC, which devalues the console.
Also Sony is being strategic with PC releases to incite PC players to purchase the sequel on PS5.

Horizon comes to PC if you want Horizon Forbidden west buy PS5

God of war comes to PC, if you want to play Ragnarok buy PS5.

Spiderman comes to PC, want to play Spiderman 2 buy PS5.

I bet Ghost of Tushima comes to PC a year before Ghost 2 comes for PS5.

This is only for Sonys AAA single player games not their future GAAS games.

Making all Microsoft games multiplatform makes the Xbox console redundant and guarantees its demise. Then people lose access to their libraries when Microsoft pulls the plug not long after - they've done it before with GFWL on Windows and there's nothing to stop them doing it again. It isn't fair to call people trolls for being concerned about that.

You're creating a situation where it causes all that in your head.

My opinion is that Sony would be doing the same thing if the sales on Xbox wasn't so low .

At some point it's not going to matter where you play the game as long as you own the licence.

Why are sales of Xbox so low?

That strategy doesn't seem to be working because their PC software sales are pretty abysmal.

The problem is xbox hardware turns irrelevant and redundat for the majority of people if xbox sagas are on ps5 - switch.

MS may be planning to bring them to other platforms, but on a timely basis. It would still be beneficial to have an Xbox if for example, Elder Scrolls is exclusive to Xbox for a year. It's basically like that for some big exclusives right now on PC like God of War.

True, but at the end of the day it's still extra money after they made all they could on console and hopefully some will buy the box. I highly doubt the PC ports cost much.

People's existing Xbox libraries won't work on a PlayStation in future will they. This thread and its title are stupid. The thread is bait and the only warrior is the OP.

Xbox influencers lied to their fan base and made excuses for Xbox for the past 10. They ignore all the issues with console sales, Game Pass, and software sales.
What did you want them to do, tell the truth? Who would they be influencing then?

It seems like PS games get ported a year or three later (after their exclusivity matters less) while Xbox does day 1 with gamepass. I don’t mind waiting for pc versions, unless there is a game I REALLY want to play. Last PS game like that for me was Uncharted 2. I don’t mind the wait.

I believe that outside of Nintendo, exclusivity will become more rare with only timed exclusivity really mattering and everything going to pc or even multiplatfoem after a year or two. Most of the time, there will be too much money left on the table not to do that, esp as dev costs increase and live service games struggle to maintain player bases. - at least, that’s how I see things in the long term.

How is that hurting when obviously more people gonna get to experience halo, gears, Forza and other xbox games? Metacritics critics will washout obviously and won't hold any weight after this, we could see patterns of behaviors from these sites and understand where it comes from, their age, demographic, personality etc...

Until so few people buy an Xbox console that Microsoft stops spending R&D and other costs to make new consoles and you no longer have access to your digital games, gamerscore, etc.

I’ve always owned all three boxes, but I always preferred Xbox for the controller and ecosystem. My Series X will probably be my last Xbox console since I buy them based on their exclusives. Microsoft not having anymore exclusives means I will not be buying the next one. I will keep my Series X since that’s the only way I can play Fallout New Vegas, Rock Band 4, and Dragon Age Origins…but my PS5 will be getting more playtime.

We need them to license the xbox controller to use on PlayStation. I'm sure they will eventually.

And then add XBL and achievements, then I probably don’t need an Xbox anymore 😭

What on earth do you need those things on other platforms for?

Achievements are available everywhere and online gaming is also a thing everywhere else (it's even free on some platforms).

Some of you are moving like battered wives with a dusting of Stockholm syndrome.

Eh, if you are willing to give companies detailed information about yourself they generally will continue to allow you to do so.

So many franchises would die in the coming years if Xbox tried to rely on Xbox consoles alone .

Devs & publishers need the confidence that their hard work & money is not being wasted creating games or the game quality will get lower & lower so be thankful that Xbox games will have a backup plan.
That's normal to try to convince yourself, you don't need to feel ashame.

When you say "Xbox Fan", what do you mean?

Because clearly you are assuming the console hardware doesn't matter, which is a complete lie.

The logic failure in your statement is that you are pretending Xbox was never about the console. Something that was a lie as Xbox was the box. Because Microsoft had been selling games for a long time before Xbox existed, and the Xbox was the hardware when that term was coined.

Now of course officially Microsoft is trying to pretend Xbox was always about gaming and not the hardware. But only someone with brain damage or was born yesterday would somehow forget that this is complete untrue from the start.

Essentially this entire thread was about a lie. A retcon of what an Xbox was meant to be. The reality is that Xbox is dead and they are trying to give its name to a bunch of game studios as if nothing has changed.

if you are an Xbox console fan, the answer is clear that you want exclusives to bring more people to your console. Because without more people owning the console it would no longer be economically viable to make and sell future consoles.

The xbox hardware is dying, and here you are celebrating its death by denying it ever existed.

They will likely have an emulator layer of sorts with an account system for your previous purchases and gamerscore.

The PC space, and big social media people, has been questioning Microsoft on this for awhile now. If anything is an Xbox, like they claim with that ”This is an Xbox” ad, then their customers should have access to all their Xbox games that are now accessible on Series X, otherwise it’s false advertising and likely bad enough to lead to a global class action law suit.

Perfectly said my friend. I became an Xbox fanboy when they released the original Xbox. I didn’t buy Microsoft games on PC cause I was a console gamer. Once Microsoft got into console gaming is the day Xbox was born. No matter of revisionism will change the fact Xbox was Microsoft’s entry into the console market. It was NEVER any more than that and no matter how they spin it, Xbox will ALWAYS be the console.

They might not be mentally hurt yet but the teasing is just getting started. We will farm generational salt from former Xbox fans. Colt did it to yall not us. He wrote a check that we cashing the day Halo hits my magnificently moist PS5 Pro. Somebody eatin some crow. That whole astroturfed Xbox faux grassroots marketing shill campaign was so fucking insulting to our intelligence, I am forever in awe that one they thought it would work, and two people actually bought into it, and posted that horseshit with a straight face.

People are so wrapped up in console war bullshit 😆 Anyone buying Xbox games at full price on other platforms are footing the bill for the console subscribers.

By all means, buy everything they release and play where you want. I'll continue to play those same games for a fraction of the cost and with an increased playerbase.

Xbox hardware dead? No. Not when over 60% of gamepass subs are from console. They're be shooting themselves in foot not releasing another console.

Trying to tell yall, MS is Trojan Horsing 🐎 the game industry with this 3rd party approach. Games will be so good they'll sell everywhere but the most cost effective way to play will be Gamepass.

Next gen is gonna be interesting. Especially with Sony losing their way with GaaS and not leaning on their bread and butter which is high quality single player games with great story. MS is gonna fill those gaps.

This is such an ignorant statement, I keep hearing.

Like Microsoft execs are sitting around, saying "GamePass is such a great deal, we are losing money on it, but that's ok because we love our gamers so much. So, let's sell our games on PS5 and use all those profits so we can lose even more money with GP. We love our cult members that much."

Sorry, but every player choosing to play Microsoft games on PS5 and Switch 2 instead of Xbox and GamePass is one more reason for Microsoft to kill or invest fewer resources into GamePass, not vice-versa.

Will Xbox games still be coming out on Xbox? Yes. Will they be on D1 on game pass? Yes. Do I care if other people play those games on other consoles? No. So who the fuck cares. I'm not 11 years old.
