It's disheartening to see Yakuza Kiwami not make the top 20 (despite being released on the tail end of August) :-( Any chance it could rise up for September's NPD's?
Wait, what do the asterisks (*) mean again? And why do only Nintendo titles have them?

Yakuza kiwami is not tracked for august as the period is till august 26 and the game released after but I doubt it will track in the top 10 anyways but maybe top 20.It's disheartening to see Yakuza Kiwami not make the top 20 (despite being released on the tail end of August) :-( Any chance it could rise up for September's NPD's?
People really want Arms to bomb. Almost as much as horizon

It retails for <£30 in stores in UK and is now £35 for good even on the massively over priced PSN.
You don't do that for a major AAA title like 4 months after launch.
Mass Effect is in a coffin for a long while.
Aren't these ranking by revenue though?

Correct.
Did Yakuza 0 make the top 20? Anyhow, the franchise has never been a major seller.
Good point, I'm not sure as there isn't any concrete info about it out there (I don't think it reached NPD, but I think it may have for the UK equivalent) I just thought the high demand of 0 (with it being sold out here for a while) perhaps the lower pricepoint and producing enough units at launch it'll fair better. Either way, I'm sure it's started off well enough, with much of the attention now going towards getting perople invested to play it down the line for the inevitable black friday sales and hype leading up towards 6...)
NPD Coverage: July 30-August 26, 2017 (4 weeks, July was 4 weeks)
Think if or when Rockstar releases GTAV on yet another console like Switch...
Positive word of mouth does wonders.I remember when people thought Siege bombed...yet here we are in Q3 2017 and it's in the top 10. What a time to be alive.
It makes me really happy to see BotW chugging along nicely. Makes me hopeful for the longevity of its sales.

None of it is understandable.Yeah if there's ever been two games that have had a considerable amount of people willing to hope and bat against their success it's those 2. Horizon I can sort of understand, it was pitted against Zelda and lost and there were some pathetic people who seemed to be very interested in that 'battle,' but ARMS? ARMS? Why are there so many people pushing an 'ARMS is doomed' narrative, even going so far as lying to do so? I thought one of the main criticisms of Nintendo as a whole was their unwillingness to put new IP in the spotlight, yet there's a tangible hint of delight behind a lot of users wondering if we'll ever see an ARMS 2.
Well as people have pointed out it has done well enough to be compared to other new IP that Nintendo did seem successful enough to develop a sequel of. Guess that is a bad thing then?
Are they all Mario Kart fans and wanted a brand spanking new Mario Kart on the Switch? That's the only reason I can think of...
You do know that People that bought UC4 season pass could get it for free right....?
I am surprised it is still charting well.It makes me really happy to see BotW chugging along nicely. Makes me hopeful for the longevity of its sales.
Not sure if you can answer but any ideas on siege numbers in the US LTD?Hi everyone, sorry just waking up on the west coast.
I'm around if anyone has any questions.
Also, thanks Guymelef for dropping the link to my first go at a summary video:
I'm trying to make everything a bit easier to digest with some added points of clarification. It's certainly more info than can be included in a tweet or thread, so I hope you dig it. But yeah, it's very much done in corporate-speak. I have a new found respect for everyone who makes videos now, that's for sure!
(And please excuse the error when I called it a 5 week period. DOH!)

At long last the answer is actually yes.

ARMS does nothing for me. The controls, the character designs - all of it. So I'm not exactly enthusiastic about the possibility of a sequel. The idea of such a skilled dev team alternating between pumping out Mario Kart and ARMS every gen as opposed to working on...pretty much anything else, doesn't sound great to me.Are they all Mario Kart fans and wanted a brand spanking new Mario Kart on the Switch? I'll never stop being blown away by GTAV's performance. What a phenomenon.
You've probably been asked this a million times but I'm new here so I'll ask anyway. Is the Switch classified in any way whatsoever as a handheld in these?
If not do you foresee doing away with the need to detail handheld sales at say this time next year if the 3DS plummets to irrelevance?
What if Nintendo do some sort of dockless Switch (not that I think they will) would that be the only way you see dedicated handhelds surviving into 2019?
Also I can't remember where I asked this and I think it's been buried away several pages ago but how will the SNES mini be detailed?
No official numbers outside of Nintendo's PR? Do you have the numbers to compare with the NES Classic launch month since Nintendo have promised multiple times the numbers should be significantly higher?
Snip
Do you think 2017 might end up the all-time best year for shooters, given it's only down by 30% with Destiny, Battlefront, and Call of Duty still to come?Hi everyone, sorry just waking up on the west coast.

Wouldn't that be a big hill to climb when you look at 2015 which also had a Battlefront and probably the best selling COd this gen. still confused as to how capcom can be disappointed in this game's sales. maybe not as successful as re6, numbers-wise, but 10th best-selling 2017 game has to count for something ...
