To those who are saying that the Wii outsold the 360 in December:

What makes you think Nintendo shipped more than MS during that month?

Hoarding of 1.8 Million production since July 07. If you combine sales of US + Japan + Europe + Other (say 10%), you will find that it does not equal 1.8 / month. So Nintendo is saving some of that 1.8 Million for Nov and Dec 07.

Aso, don't forget Wii Rain Check, and the fact that NPD Dec also cover one week in January (which mean it can have shipment from early January production).

I think that is above average. Not fantastic (Top 3), mind you, but above average. Might be very good (Top 10 or Top 15), but I wouldn't really know about that.

During the Blu-Ray conference at CES, the Fox guy said that there were roughly 3 million PS3s in the marketplace. As of November NPD, the PS3 was at 2.44 million sold. Someone is wrong, so that is why I kept my number.

Yeah, you obviously don't read PR's from Sony often. The evidence I have of them lieing is from their lies on previous months.

The 1.2m number also included the week of black Friday, which was captured in November NPD, and was for all of NA. NPD however extends into the first week of January, so there's a pretty wide range depending on how people accounted for those factors in their predictions. Also, in that thread there was a confusing follow-up from Sony PR. Probably a miscommunication, but it was enough to raise an eyebrow or two.

Next Thursday is going to be a hoot.
