At the 12 minute mark he distinguishes a difference between the Xbox hardware and the Xbox platform…like they are two different things.
This is exactly what I hear from my 8th grade students. We talk about games and they tell me they play Roblox. I ask them on what system and they tell me, “Roblox”. The same is true with Fortnite. They play the creative levels and tell me the system is Fortnite.
It seems like Microsoft is going down this path, especially with them doing an upgrade to their cloud network.

Xbox fans absolutely deserve to hear the full truth. These are people putting money into the ecosystem, keeping it (barely) alive. Be up front and clear with them. Like I think most people get what’s going on, but they should still settle it and make it 100% transparent.

This is the new spin i see after everything else has failed, and the worst part is, the usual fans are just gonna eat it up, you know, the ones that used to cheer about the Tflop advantage with the infinite system wars before release, about the Actiblizz acquisition and how "dead" the opposition would become because of it etc etc...
You can't make this shit up, it's been bullshit PR after bullshit PR with this guy for the past 5+ years, at this point it's just comedic not mention, fuel for the most hardcore of the green fanboys as to have something to hold on to and frankly, it's beyond pathetic.

It is somewhat a shift towards a better direction which I applaud. I do still think (no doubt) that the "XBOX console" brand will suffer because of this direction, but in the end Microsoft could gain big $$$ in a larger market.

Biggest fraud Microsoft ever had to deal with. At the end of all these outrageous acquisitions in the gaming industry... still comes in DEAD LAST yet again, and now Microsoft's upper management is taking over the driving seat from Phil to force Xbox to become the next Sega. ROFLMFAO!!!
Xbox putting all of its exclusives on PlayStation, GTA6 on PS5 Pro being the definitive console experience, and all the awesome Chinese, Korean, and Japanese games with exceptional quality and production values coming to the system with all of them being PS5 Pro Enhanced, AND, the overwhelming majority NOT coming to Xbox Series. PS5 will 100% surpass PS4.
All this happened while Sony fumbled their 1st party studios for half a generation...Talk about being the luckiest son of a bitch to the motherfucking teeth!

There is nothing to applaud. The original plan backfired and now they are stumbling their way to find a place in the industry.
It already has.
As a publisher, MS's track record has been awful. Zenimax has always been mid-tier and ABK has been working on overdrive mode.
right now, the Xbox future (as a publisher) is pretty rough.

Not trying to be an ass here but why does phil spencer go on these xbox fanboy podcasts and shows and consistently give them publicity. And what's the benefit for phil to give a dude with less than 3k subs his time of day? It literally makes no sense from a business perspective to do this type of crap at all but if he is going to do it then he should only be going on shows that have a big following.

I found it interesting during the direct showcase they showed PS5 as a platform for the games they announce. Meanwhile Playstation doesn't show Xbox as a platform for any of the same games being announced in their trailers.
