A Portland pimp is suing Nike for not placing a warning label in their shoes specifying that they could be used as a dangerous weapon -- after he was sentenced to 100 years in prison for brutally beating a john with his sneaker.

Sirgiorgiro Clardy, 26, claims Nike should have placed a warning in the shoes warning consumers that the kicks have the potential to be used as a dangerous weapon, according to The Oregonian newspaper. Clardy is seeking $100 million for what he believes was the shoe manufacturer’s oversight.

In June, Clardy repeatedly stomped on the face of a client with his Jordan Nike shoes when the man refused to pay Clardy’s prostitute. The man required stitches and plastic surgery after the beating.

Clardy was sentenced to 100 years in prison for beating the man as well as attacking an 18-year-old prostitute so violently that she bled from her ears.

The jury in Clardy’s most recent case called him a “dangerous offender” and classified his shoes as “a dangerous weapon” in order to assure he received the longest prison sentence possible, according to The Oregonian.

Good thing they weren't pumps.

They're called kicks for a reason, dumbass.

Oh, and if he is actually successful, I reserve the right to laugh at the US for 101 years.

Sorta has a point. If the prosecution wants to claim shoes are a dangerous weapon, then make Nike prove they aren't, and use that in your appeal.

100 years? People get less for murder and child rape.

100 years seems extreme if he didn't kill a person or leave someone a vegetable.

26 years old with a 100 year sentence...god damn.

Them priors.

As much as I don't really condone what this guy does, I agree with him. If you call his shoes as a dangerous weapon to purposely try and lock him up in jail for as long as possible, then it should be classified as such. To be honest, 100 years is just stupid, and I don't believe he deserves it for the beating of the two persons.

They basically cheated him out, and he's calling them out on it. He may be scum, but they can't just bend the rules like that.

Wouldn't bashing someone with a crowbar also be considered the same?

He's not calling them out on it, he's suing a shoe company.

There are pimps in Portland?? Do they sew their own coats and exploit indie rock groupies??

Pretty sure I saw some pimp harassing his "ho" one day by a mini mart. He was yelling all kinds of shit at her and putting his hands up with her backing up. Other people were already on the phone with the cops but he just got in his car and fucked off. Wonder if it was this dude. I couldn't see him very well given it was at night and across a main street.

What were you hauling?

During his two-week trial and his two-day sentencing hearing, Clardy was known for his unusual courtroom antics. He shouted expletives at the judge, prosecutors and jurors.

A psychologist declared him an anti-social psychopath who was 100 percent likely to commit violent crimes again. And Clardy disagreed so loudly -- making such a scene -- that he was removed from the courtroom.

yeah.....he is in a good place now

He got 100 years because he's a lost cause. It's just better to isolate him from the population until he dies at this stage. Look at the number of felonies he got. I don't think he was planning to stop any time soon.

The 100 year sentence appears to have come from him committing 20 felonies in ~13 years, something missing from OP's article/source.

Oh, dude is totally insane.

”I've evaluated serial murders, serial rapists, and I'm going to tell you very few of those people reach the elevations (scores) we're going to talk about here,” said Colistro, noting his three-decades long career. “People like Mr. Clardy are born bad. It’s not something we can fix. ...That’s why we have prisons.”

Damn

I feel like some people think he was holding the shoe, not that it would make a huge difference. No, the article says he was repeatedly stomping on the guy's head.

Nah.

Quick search says Oregon state law defines a dangerous weapon as: Any weapon, device, instrument, material or substance which under the circumstances in which it is used, attempted to be used or threatened to be used, is readily capable of causing death or serious physical injury.

You put virtually any object on a human adult's foot and proceed to stomp on another person's head, and whatever that object is becomes a dangerous weapon. None of that necessitates a manufacturer to identify products in a different way just because someone can conceivably use them to beat or kill someone.

Maybe you don't like the idea of the law, but I'm pretty sure most places have the same basic concept.

Hahaha, did he wear "pimp clothes"/jewelry?
