Get ready to experience everything you love about Pokémon battles all in one place—in Pokémon Champions. This new, battle-focused game will feature familiar mechanics such as Pokémon types, Abilities, and moves, creating an environment conducive to rich and varied strategies for new and experienced Trainers alike. It’s not just familiar mechanics—you’ll be able to bring in classic Pokémon from Pokémon HOME, too! Look forward to cross-platform battles alongside your favorite Pokémon on Nintendo Switch and mobile, with a variety of different modes available for your desired experience

Not sure if Nintendo would be totally ok with that, but I'm fine with that.
Going focused only on the core aspects of battle while not restricting by stupid limits its great. Reminds me of Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2.
Being on mobile also allow people from other countries to participate as well, though I'm sure there will be some specific things exclusive to Switch. But by trade off I think they could be offering an experience with all mons instead. With SV garbage visuals, maybe that was the aim in the end.

Also you could use any other informant than that guy. Serebii is a retard and a disgusting person.

Its a shame this isn't a switch 2 exclusive, having to make this work on switch will make this game supremely outdated in a few years, most phones now are ps4-level, it's not smart to not future-proof the game by making it have better graphics... I will never understand the pokemon company.

Nintendo partly owns Pokémon, so obviously they're ok with it.

No shit.
I said that as part of they being hesitant with the idea at first, since the core concept of battle its coming directly from the main games and even developed by Game Freak.
They probably accepted because they probably gonna have an advantage with the Switch version, like a function only available on Switch.

I think there's only 1 reason they do it and that's $$$.

  • Switch has a huge install base
  • Outdated means nothing to the majority of players
  • Pokémon was never about graphics

I wonder if the pokemon competitive scene will move on to this.
Im curious about pokemon aviability. I understand you can get you pokemon from pokemon home or bank or whatever it's called but what's in it for people who isn't transferirng their mons? If they use fix 'for rent' pokemon like Stadium did those player are going to get crushed by the actually bred and raised mons everytime.

This might be a response to Pokemon Showdown. "Pro" Pokemon players have to try out new strategies and team compositions; a lot of prep work goes into competitive Pokemon, and Showdown is the place to do all that right now.
