Problem with Assassin's Creed patch (360)

I boot my 360, sign into XBox Live, and start the game up.

After the Ubisoft logo, I'm disconnected from XBL (as if I'm about to recieve the update).

No update comes. I sit at the title screen. I hit Guide and manually log in to XBL. As soon as the login completes, I'm prompted to download the update. I accept.

The left blade pops up with the download bar, but immediately snaps back, as a right blade comes up and says I can't download the update because I'm not on XBL.

I'm booted back to the Dashboard, where I'm instantly and automatically signed back on to XBL.

What the fuck? Anyone else have this issue?

To perform the function, access 'memory' in the system blade, and then highlight the hard drive. Now press: Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X. The following message should appear: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?"

And then I need to redownload the patches for all my games right? What about DLC, themes, gamerpics?

Is there another possible problem? I remember one guy in the original patch thread saying that he wasn't prompted to update at all, sounds similar.

You will have to download the system update again. Better make sure your connection is all squared away. If your connection goes out while updating the system, you're screwed.

No you don't. Only patches for games.

I'm pretty sure the only solution here is delete all your cache data and then re-update your firmware and games.

Or go snag the PS3 version?
