If Microsoft managed to get Xbox 360 games to run better than on the original console on the fucking Xbox One, with its Jaguar CPU, then Sony can run PS3 on PS5.

At this point I would glad take full priced re-releases, but they rather come up with new ways to make you pay for the same games over and over than release something midly obscure or not part of some corporative multi-media IP-milking scheme bullshit.

this is not an standard PC, this is a proprietary hardware for mining, there are no drivers for windows and the AMD driver for linux was broken for this gpu, it is now possible to use it, that is the news here given that is very cheap for $100 us dollars you can get a quite capable "PC" if you have a power supply and a nvme ssd and a cooling solution, just take into account that they are used but still a very good and cheap alternative

Fair enough. The title of the youtube video literally says ‘I Ran PS3 Games on PS5 Silicon to Prove Sony Wrong’ though. Sony never said it's not possible to emulate PS3 on PS5, they said ‘we believe in generations’ aka ‘we don't care’.

yes it was click bait really, technically is a faulty PS5 APU as it has disabled cores, but its the only way to use the GPU part of the PS5 in a PC, previously there was a motherboard that included the APU but to be used as a CPU only and use a graphic cards, there was a segment in tech youtubers that wanted very hard to use PS5 hardware as a PC to brag about it, I wont be surprised if we see a linus tech tip video in a couple weeks

Sony cant find a way to make backwards compatibility profitable. This is why they re-release old games instead of letting us play our PS1-PS3 discs on our ps5. The steam deck apu specs are slightly under the ps4 apu and it can emulate most of the ps3 library so we know the ps5 can handle it easily. Didnt bother watching, just another clueless youtuber trying to get clicks.
