Void Interactive, the developers behind Ready or Not, has been the victim of a massive data breach with over 4TB of data stolen. This includes over 2.1 million files in total.

The ransom group, which Insider Gaming has decided against mentioning the name of, announced in March that it had access to the data. Since then, however, Void Interactive has not mentioned any sort of breach or concern regarding Ready or Not. As far as the legitimacy of the hack, Insider Gaming has been shown the contents of the files taken under the condition they aren’t republished. This data includes all of the Ready or Not source code. It also includes code for what appears to be console builds of the game as well as results of various performance tests. Insider Gaming was shown images of the game running on a PlayStation 4 test kid with the builds taken from the breach.

There was also build data for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 included.

That sucks but also how does this impact the game in a massively negative way? Genuine question? Does it make piracy easier?

Is it some of the tech they developed in house being available for others to use? Just not sure what the big hit here is.

It devalues their IP position which impacts their companies overall value.

Depending on how wide spread the leak is other companies can take the data and spin up similar product offerings light years faster than it took this company to create the product.

If the company has investors, or is seeking funding, this could be a death blow in terms of securing future rounds of investment $.

This sucks.

Gaming is fucking amazing. When the first previews were coming out and seemed mixed I was worried because I really wanted a SWAT 3/4 successor, but it turned out to be one of the best tactical shooters in a long time.

That makes sense. Truly sucks. It's a great game. The detail on all the level designs are incredible. Great atmosphere and you can tell it's been made with a lot of love.

This sucks... bunch of weenies doing this.

Like go after all the companies tryna muck up the industry with sweet baby and DEI policies at the least.

Going after this team is just shitty, the game is awesome, not swat yet but pretty damn close enough

That really sucks. I hope they don't get too affected by this. They are already working on an expansion and the game is pretty good so far. These guys deserve success from this game. They are one of the few devs to not bend over the industry bs that has been going on.
