Report: Sexual Misconduct Investigation Conducted at EA, Suspects Named and What They Did Revealed

Workplace misconduct isn’t new in any field, but over the years, the gaming industry’s dark history of sexual misbehavior has come to light, and these exposés doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. This time around, it’s a bunch of Electronic Arts (EA) senior devs that are at the center of the storm.

Former Call of Duty dev and now studio boss at Midnight Society Robert Bowling has called out and named people that have allegedly conducted themselves inappropriately towards female co-workers.

According to Bowling, over the previous 2.5 months, EA has conducted an internal sexual misconduct investigation into Dev Director of Plants vs. Zombies Jordan Adams, and Director Partnerships at EAX Matthew Angeleri.

So just what did these two people do to warrant an investigation? Apparently, Jordan Adams video called his female coworkers and proceeded to perform lewd acts on himself. Adams would also send female coworkers pornographic videos and even reference them in EA Slack conversations.

As for Matthew Angeleri, he invited his female coworkers to stay at his home with his wife while visiting Vegas where they were given free room and lodging. While that seemed like an act of goodwill, Angeleri privately sexually harassed said female coworkers and even followed it up with videos of himself having lewd acts performed on himself.

For reference, Bowling is the partner of one of the victims and even a witness to the evidence, even stating that he has a picture of Adams’ genitalia on their iPad.

We followed up with Bowling to get a little bit more information to see how things were being handled now that the investigation is over at EA. Despite no one denying that any of the mentioned things by Bowling, it seems that according to EA, given the events transpired outside of work between two adults, and the fact that once investigation has started that the alleged perpetrators didn’t do it again, the investigation is considered closed.

Here’s the messed up part: the victim still has to work with the people that harassed her. Bowling’s follow up message to us adds that one of the victim’s manager has been amazing, taking on extra work so that she no longer has to interact with Mathew, responding on her behalf when needed.

Regardless of the field you’re in, sexual misconduct and harassment have no space in the workplace. We’ve contacted EA for a comment on this investigation, and will update if we hear anything back.

That's video game employees for ya. Although i got to say all the wacky stories, tweets and court cases involving video game people are hilarious to read.

Wild west corporate culture.

Lewd.

The only times I see that word being used is in hentais and in To Catch a Predator.

Sending unsolicited sex videos is so fucking moronic. Women never find this hot lol. You’re more likely to get her to sue you than to get her into your bed.

Where the fuck do these guys ever get the impression that doing that kinda shit would be a good idea? ESPECIALLY in this cancel culture everything you do is on the internet age? Just go to work, keep quiet, go home and have a wank in private.
Tech was wild 25 years ago and many of those boys clubs persisted until pretty recently. Fun times but there were many times I was pretty uncomfortable with what was swept under the rug.

You have to be so stupid to not realize that a man's wife's away and you're invited over that the expectation isn't anything but fucking.

Put a nerd into a position of power and then put some female coworkers who he has power over in the team, the monkey brain does the rest.

to stay at his home with his wife

It doesn't say his wife was away???

I am a dude and I have never felt like extending an invitation to a coworker to stay at my house, or receiving one, was an offer for sex. That expectation should not exist and even if it does, regardless of accepted or declined, sexual harassment and unsolicited pornographic videos after should not be expected. Should the same expectation exist if you the offer comes from a same sex coworker? What about a gay one? I think the stupid person is the one going into it expecting sex regardless of if they are the inviter or invitee. Especially since it is a coworker and not a freaking date.

Actually I didn’t understand that line at all. Did the female coworkers stayed at his house with his wife?

She probably gave him the number, and maybe they had something going on,point is we don't know. If an issue she should take him to court.

Ngl, if i were a CEO i would have a zero-tolerance policy with this kinda of behavior. You'd be fired on the spot. No severance, no 2 weeks, nothing. I'd even put it into the employee contract that you consent to being fired on the spot for engaging in this type of behavior. It's such bullshit to have to deal with this in a workplace. Would also have some kind of humiliation parade setup as you walk out the door to disincentivize anyone else who thought about doing something like this.

These types of boys are stinking cunts, give them a good fucken beating and they’ll soon think twice.

Corporate discipline and that bollocks doesn’t do anything. Grab the cunt by the scruff and smash their face in.

Picking up one’s teeth is a sobering experience for those who think they’re untouchable.

Here's a tip, don't send dick pics. Is this a millennial/zoomer thing? I don't recall Gen Xers (my gen), or boomers doing this. When did they learn to think chick's dig this? Although I do remember the retards teens that would draw dick and balls over everything. Makes you wonder why they are obsessed with schlong.

Only hos and slots would want that, and most respectable women would not, although I also here there is not many decent women left for younger people as they become more easy thanks to dating apps opening up more prospects. Glad I'm married.

Also why is this dude pushing this out on social media? Why not the women or going to the cops. Wasn't Robert Bowling the "community manager"..ie forum and social media clown. Why bri g this up now, out of the blue? There is a ton we are missing here.

Any evidence for this, or is it women making up fake sexual assault allegations? (as usual)

Not passing judgement on the basis of only one side of the story.

It sounds bad, but here's the thing. I cannot imagine being in a workplace where such outrageous things were going on and not everyone knowing about it.
And that being the case I think most people would do or say something about it... Its an office, not a frat house and people behave according to that scenario.

Truth is most relationships start in the work place and theres always chemistries flying. Having a sterile work focused utopia is just a naive pipedream. When people socialize outside of work, things tend to get hairy. Personally, theres been times the girl initiated the flirting over text message. Unless youre literally autistic she will give you hints. But there's a limited time window to make it happen before she loses interest. Mens strategy are historically to give it a shot and see if it works, not much else you can do considering women's signals are rarely clear. So I tend to be skeptical about these dramatized stories but have also learned its very risky but sometimes it results in positive relationships. When in doubt, just wait for her to make it obvious. And even then, you might be missing out. Its not always fair

It happens, I have two Co-workers who keep sending porn gifs to our Whatsapp group, we're all men in the group sure but unprofessional all the same, we had two customer walk in on us as we were checking new posts on the group and it was hardcore porn.

In what scenario is it ok to send your coworkers pics of your genitals or of you jerking it? Like even let's say a woman dropped a hint, instead of going up and starting a conversation who sends pics of his schlong?

So you tell them to stop or just remove them from the group?
I mean there's a world of difference between inappropriate and actual criminal behaviour.

Not being funny, but why are you checking your whatsapp when there are customers around? I mean that's unprofessional if you want to be a stickler about it!
