He wasn't even verified as a "gaming journalist", but as a "freelance gaming journalist", a label that no one probably took seriously, ever, and is hardly worth a verification tag in the first place.
I mean, how are people supposed to react to that? "Wow, look at him, a guy that writes for blogs whenever he has free time"?
Imagine acting holier than thou and having your ego inflated because you can show the world your highly prestigious position as a freelance journalist for videogame's news.
I've been a freelance gaming journalist for close to 20 years. I've reviewed hundreds of games, written thousands of news articles, been on many trips, E3 over ten times, GamesCom a few. Conducted more interviews than I can count. Am I disqualified now just for being freelance?
This dude may be an idiot, but your "point" here is fucking stupid. Almost every journalist in the gaming press is freelance. All being freelance means is that you're not actually an employee at the company you work for. You don't get a monthly paycheck. You send a bill every month that they have to pay. It says nothing about your experience, or the amount you work.
If you're gonna attack them on something, attack them on something that doesn’t make you look like a complete fool to anyone who knows anything about how this job works.
