Hearing the RE4 SFX and music but seeing fixed camera angles throws me off. My brain wants RE2 SFX and music instead.

I would play the full game.

I really miss fixed camera. Such an atmospheric way to play especially if the developers know how to utilize camera angles very well. SH1 does this despite having a traditional TPS camera. It still uses instances of fixed camera angles and sometimes fixed position panning shots.

I'm down to play something like this. Not sure I'd be able to finish the entire game, but at least try it out.

Fixed camera games are yet another genre that could thrive on mobile/tablets.

If *Resident Evil 4* had been released on the PlayStation 1, it would have had a very different feel and presentation. Here are some key differences you might expect:

1. **Graphics and Sound**: The PS1's hardware limitations would mean lower-resolution graphics, more blocky character models, and simpler textures. The atmospheric sound design would also be limited, impacting the overall immersion.

2. **Gameplay Mechanics**: The controls would likely retain the tank-style controls common in earlier Resident Evil games. The over-the-shoulder camera perspective that defined *RE4* would probably be replaced with fixed camera angles.

3. **Story and Scope**: To fit within the PS1's limitations, the story might be streamlined, possibly focusing on fewer locations and enemies. Some of the larger set pieces and complex AI might be simplified.

4. **Inventory System**: The inventory management might mirror the earlier titles, with a grid-based system that could be more restrictive, making resource management a key element.

5. **Visual Style**: The horror elements might lean more on classic survival horror tropes, with less emphasis on action sequences, focusing instead on creating tension through atmosphere.

Overall, while it would still retain core elements of survival horror, it would feel like a very different game, possibly appealing to fans of the classic *Resident Evil* style rather than the action-oriented approach of the original *RE4*.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
It looks more like GBA graphics, or somewhere between that and the PS1 (closer to GBA). It could have been (fully) real time 3D on PS1 too so maybe just call it 90s pre-rendered graphics RE4 specifically rather than just PS1. Edit: ok, Hawk The Slayer's video is much closer to the OP's premise.
