I might have to return my new guitar.
At first I wasn't going to worry about it, the description on the site only mentioned minor scratches. But when I got it there was a pinhead sized chip in the headstock down to the wood as well as some flaws in the finish and pick guard. Also, the serial number and "Made in America" on the back of the headstock is barely legible through the finish. Overall minor, but annoying issues.
Was gonna give that a pass until I went through the soft case that came with the guitar for documentation. There's an inspection card from Gibson with the date, serial number, and name of inspector. Along with a dated picture of the guitar when it was inspected.
It was a different guitar. Different serial number on the card and the picture was of a Heritage Cherry SG with different pickups versus my Ebony black one.
I think (hope) if they can send me the proper documentation and maybe a gift card or something as compensation for it not being the quality listed on the website I'll keep it, otherwise I might send it back.
