English musician and composer Martyn Ware reported that Rockstar offered $7,500 to include the song “Temptation” in GTA6, and his reaction was not very charitable.
Ware, a founding member of the synth-pop band Heaven 17, was apparently offered the sum through his publishers so that the popular song could be broadcasted in Rockstar’s upcoming game Grand Theft Auto 6, including a buyout of all royalties in perpetuity.
If you’re unfamiliar with “Temptation,” the song ranked number 2 on the UK Singles Chart in spring 1983 and it’s one of Heaven 17’s biggest hits.
Simulation Daily reached out to Rockstar and Take-Two for comment, and we’ll update this article if we receive a reaction or clarification.
