Good luck to them. I say that because even if this all comes true, there's no guarantee that it'll be as good or better than the previous games. Especially with the majority of those involved gone. I still can't believe how long it's been since a solid Arkham game.

Edit: I'm referring to a traditional Arkham game, I'm not including the VR game for obvious reasons, lol.

The current Rocksteady simply aren't capable of making a standalone Batman game on the level of past entries.

What exactly do we have to look forward to? Another Mrs Freeze or feminist simp Lex Luthor? If all they intend to do is bastardise the franchise with woke then what's the point? They were so afraid of a sexy Poison Ivy they simply turned her into a child in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Personally, I would love to see something like Batman of the Future; Court of Owls (concept already wasted in Gotham Knights), the Hush storyline (which was touched on in past games), Long Halloween or even a proper build towards the Justice League with Batman travelling to Metropolis and meeting Superman for the first time. Ultimately it doesn't matter, even if Rocksteady nail the concept it will fall flat if they come at us with these insufferable current day reinterpretations of established characters.

It has largely avoided all the "modern audience" reengineering that seemingly all other comic properties have gotten over the past decade. Primarily because it's been mothballed all this time.
I do not trust either DC Comics or any present day game developer to make a BB game without ripping its original characters and themes to shreds.

While I do agree, at least the developers have a blue print of what the game should be. I'm a lot more confident of them making a new batman game than a brand new IP

Every game that started to be developed from 2023 is going to be crossGen game. Those who start now have a good chance of ending up being just NextGen... It's hard for me to get excited about projects that have so much left to be launched and (as the industry is currently) that may not see the light of day.
