This company is run by a guy in charge who only cares about money and nothing else. He takes advantage of people's nostalgia and provides them a shit product in exchange for it. Fuck him.
I thought IGN bought the or is that some other company?

I'm surprise this piece of shit still exists.
And people think it has to do with disgusting thing they did in the past when it's more about their defecative level of quality in their work.

I fucking hate LRG so much. The worst part is, they'll probably be the only distributor of the upcoming Mega Drive Shmup Earthion... which enrages me even more, because I'd really like to have that.

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
I mean, I like that they're preserving games on physical media that includes all the patches.

But their anti-consumer (and even anti-employee) practices are disgusting.

It is...upsetting that they are positioned to fill the role of "physical supplier" when more and more games shift to digital only releases.

As a long time customer I detest everything about their model.

In before "vote with your wallet bs" they secure physical rights for games that have no other avenue for release...no voting here..just shut up, take my money, and I might get lucky if they can ever release anything on time.

There was an article about this on Time Extension. Here's a rather juicy quote from the article:

After submitting this complaint, Gutiérrez Hermoso received PioPow and found that it, too, was using the wrong voltage. "As you yourself have covered, Josh Fairhurst has reportedly said that bad production quality is fine because most customers never open the box, let alone play the game."

It is essential that companies like this sell a properly working product. The individual consumer that receives the product is free to decide what to do with it. He can choose to open the box and play the game, or he can proudly display the sealed box on a shelf, or he can burn it in a bonfire. That decision belongs to the recipient.

The company cannot assume that the owner will only treat it solely as a collectible and keep the package sealed. If the item you're selling is purported to be a video game, then it darn well better be an actual functioning video game.

I paid good money for this Dynex!

The most frustrating thing, I think, is that this has been a known issue for years. Like... I've been hearing about these sorts of problems since Columbus Circle started releasing Super Famicom repros in what... 2017? There's no excuse at this point in time, and even less excuse for LRG considering that they've gotten dinged for "durr, nobody's going to open the thing, who cares?" before.

The reasoning that most people don't open and play the games is pretty crazy. Then why not buy an empty case and use a 3D printer to print your own cartridge? You're still not going to play it, right?

The sooner LRG go out of business, the better for everyone passionate about keeping the memories of retro games alive. Other companies should fill that spot.

I am begging the world to stop buying from LRG. That Josh F guy is a total asshat. His ex coworker alleges they tried to warn him about CD Rs and he said it's cheaper and hardly anyone will really use it anyway. Nothing has been changed or learned when he's picking the cheapest possible board for a fucking NES game. It's not because their suppliers made a mistake, it's because he picks the cheapest trash he possibly can and shoves it out there. I don't give a shit that he used company funds on his personal collection, I give a shit that he's duping customers.

The court of public opinion should have ended it when he claimed the reason for CDR's was better compat with 3DO when the exact opposite is the truth. It's f the customer corporate speak, not the "one of us" for the gamers brand he wants to portray.
