Whoa, not made by Sumo Digital?

I wonder if this relationship ending is one of the reasons Sumo made some cutbacks recently?

sad it's not all-stars but at least transformed is back baby!

Other than just being Sonic characters, this is my most hyped racing game in years. Should have stuck with the "all star" moniker and cast.

Still, I've been dying for a new 'transformed' racing game for years, I will be here day one. Not saying anything for game quality or whatever, but I always thought All Stars Racing Transformed was more fun than any Mario Kart game.

One of the best bits of the boring show.
Once again, so dumb to not do Sega entirely. Cross Worlds. It's in the freaking name, ya idiots, add some non-Sonic racers! But Transforming is back. Maybe next game they'll do do both that and Sega characters...

Why did they stop the Sega All-Stars theme?, It was nice to see the other Sega properties get some screen time.
Given the name and how it looks like one of the tracks is inspired by AfterBurner, maybe there are more series represented and they're saving that information for the next trailer.

There's definitely at least one more major trailer coming since they didn't reveal the release date.

I not much into Sonic characters beside Sonic/Knuckles and Tails. This really should be all SEGA characters.

Stop doing big cars, put 'em in karts or make them run. So you actually see the character, there's just a head sticking out of the car most of the time.
... anyway, Nintendo is going to crush it with MK9 and steal Sega's milk money.

This looks like it's basically the sequel to All Star Racing Transformed, minus the All-Stars.

I'm guessing their marketing department told them their old IP wouldn't be popular with the younger crowd 😑

It really is baffling why they're not including other Sega characters. Especially considering we *still* don't have Nintendo Kart either.

Okay, I'm hyped about this. I saw the "leaked" photos and figured they were fake because of the absolute trash quality of them, lol. Glad it's real!

That being said, I hope they add more characters, I have a feeling they didn't show everyone. Racing Transformed was SO good, especially because it included SO many SEGA IPs. I don't know why they wouldn't do that again. Come onnnnn. 🤞

Yeah but they have Kiryuu, Kasuga, Joker, the Metaphor characters, Virtua Fighter characters (isn't a new one coming out?), etc. It's not like they have ages without releasing popular characters, if anything, their characters are among the most popular these days in gaming

I like the look of this a lot; Sonic All Stars Racing and Transformed are for my money two of the best non-Mario Kart racers.

Fingers crossed this lives up to them.

Mixing with Riders is clearly not a good idea.
They’ve had 16 years to think of ways to improve the Riders gameplay. I’m sure they probably thought of something.

As with any racing game featuring a hoverboard or snowboard, SSX-style gameplay is the ceiling/peak to me. The closer anyone gets to that, the better they will be imo.

But do most 15-25 y/o's even know who most of those characters are, other than maybe Joker?

SEGA should have done a better job of keeping their (Non-Sonic) IP more relevant over time the way Nintendo and Capcom did.

That's the thing that got me most hype

Those are 2 separate types of games.
Riders is a more unique approach racing game, with fuel mechanics, level up and specific trick mechanics. All-star on the other hand is a more generic racing game.
I would prefer to them to retain the Riders idea rather than abandon it and simply incorporate with a car racing game. But I could see why people would stick to this "mix everything" idea since Riders is unpopular and most don't care.

Yes, I'm naming games with recent entries, Yakuza is on all-time high popularity, Persona 5 is super popular and Joker even more after Smash, the other characters are from recent games, can also be used as a gateway for players to get interested in them like who da fuck knew who Marth was when Melee came out? I think they might be sleeping on it imo

I’m all-in. Looks like we’re getting a real successor to All-Stars Racing Transformed, the best kart racer to date.

Side note, it always struck me as odd the way that game released on every platform under the sun at the time (even 3DS and Vita), yet never appeared on the PS4 or XB1. I would’ve bought a 1080p/60fps PS4 port in a heartbeat.

it's 60FPS on Series X and Series S
no resolution boost tho. so only 544p 60fps (the only 720p version was the PS3 version, which had a horrible framerate however... so weird choice by the devs at the time)
