What about the ‘journalists’ that work for neutral publications that Xbox have compromised via free gifts and nudes of Klobrille?
Jim Ryan wouldn’t give his burning mother his piss.Sony doesn't do that?
Sony doesn't do that?
Not as frequent, I remember when Felecia Day (I think it was) went on Kinda Funny, or maybe another podcast, and spent a while ranting how she is no longer a PS fan because they are stingy with giving out "free swag, games and consoles," but that MS gives them out like Halloween candy (paraphrasing) so she is more of a fan for them now.Sony doesn't do that?

Wish I can find the video. It's been posted here several times over the years. The other hosts looked like they were sweating bullets with her rant.Ha, gotta appreciate the honesty at least
Remember Adam Sessler's drug fueled meltdown because Sony would not give them a free personal PS4 when they were ready to launch?I think Sony used to be super generous with handing out review copies and goodies during late PS3 - early PS4 times but not anymore.
Is this a serious question?
Jim Ryan quite literally shits in the mouth of playstation fans. The same goes for Nintendo and their treatment of their fans/fansites.
I agree that's how it should be done, but I find it hard to believe that 89 out of 94 reviews are 90+. Are turn based games that popular and 95% of review sites love them. I'd have thought 50/50 of liking turned based games.
It must just be me.
My personal review is
I've been playing it on xss, not bad at all..
Still hovering around 8-8.5/10 for me
Been playing for a couple of hours and man the intro is so meh... it's too early to come to conclusions but based on what I've played so far I'd say the 7s and 8s seem to be on point.
People say it starts to get real good after 12 hours so I'm going to put some effort into it but overall the technical level, polish and design demonstrated so far doesn't feel like one of those sublime games you get from time to time, which is a shame.
Seriously get a fucking new engine - I pray the day some big developer with more technical chops decides to make a "bethesda game" maybe they'll move their ass for real.
Btw I think Todd Howard might be the voice of Dr. Wynn if not he sounds very similar.
Appreciate the shout-out.
I think now that the consensus out there is that the review scores, both critic and user are both disappointing across platforms, that we can now shift this conversation to whether these lower-than-expected reviews will have an impact on sales performance of both GamePass and Xbox Series.
We're going to see how this game individually ranks in sales, but also if the Xbox Series was able to outsell the PS5 in September and/or October (Forza).
I think we can all see where things are trending and they aren't positive, but a lot of this will depend on the performance of Spider-Man 2, which I expect due to the response to Starfield is likely to be user review bombed, but also could be in itself disappointing on critical acclaim. I think Spider-Man 1 would have done better if the Mary Jane missions weren't in there and some of the more annoying side quests, but Spider-Man 2 needs to do more than just remove those.

I was mistaken on Dualshockers, so the total I can find is nine.
Sorry if posted already since this Tweet is over a week old but is IGN trying to prove something after so many attacked them over their Starfield review?
Is this a "We really do like Xbox" Tweet?
With Spider-Man 2 in October, no way does the Xbox outsell PlayStation. It would have to totally bomb (and I mean bomb, not just a mere disappointment here or there).Appreciate the shout-out.

Wich reviews are missing or not finished?I think It Will drop to 84 on meta.

Agree 100% on the review score stuff.
Will be trying it out on the S as well; in this case probably not a bad way to go considering there doesn't seem much difference between the S and X versions visually or framrate-wise.
DF said this about BG3 on the PS5
"- PS5 version "does the job" for gamers without a high end gaming PC."
The same exact thing applies here with the xss, in fact, its even better snice the game actually runs at 30FPS and doesn't seem to have loading issues.
Good to hear, but do you know how big the download size is for Series S? Believe it or not this might put me off from playing it; I'm deathly afraid of pushing up the data cap (wish data caps didn't exist; I should switch to Verizon 5G for that).
A Reddit post said it's 86 GB packed; I would hope it's at least a bit smaller than that. These games are supposed to be smaller this gen, not larger. The SSD I/O was supposed to help a ton with better compression and less duplicated assets. Unfortunate for games like this that doesn't seem to be the case.

Its ~100gb installed on mine but I don't remember what the download size was.

In November or later
Hmm...well shit. Maybe I'll stream it first and see if I like it enough to download.
What ever happened to compartmentalized downloads of games this gen? That was supposed to be something else to happen thanks to SSDs, so I'm just confused why it's not implemented here (or, TBF, most other games so far this gen). Like I said, I live by data caps and let's just say a couple other people with me don't understand how data caps work .
One reason I prefer PlayStation TBH; you can still get physical copies of games and the game data's on the disc itself, outside of any Day 1 patch.
Ye if you have a data cap 100gb is a big hit, but you should also check on the data usage while streaming and make sure it’s not eating too much. I don’t think they give you an option on quality so you can save if you want, it’s kind of “best quality available” I think and I have no idea how much it eats per hour
As an active member of PushSquare, I wouldn't put them in the same sentence as those xbox sites nor the PlayStation ones despite them being PlayStation centric.Context is important in this case.
PlayMagazine hasn't been publishing reviews for years now, if I'm not mistaken. So you can take that one out as well. The rest hardly gives any unfair high scores to PlayStatio n games -- unlike those Xbox centric websites and how they favor XGS games unfairly.
Here are a few examples; I took images of the first 2 Sony games I could spot on each reviewer's profile.
Look at how their critic review scores match the avg. metacritic score. Sometimes they are even lower than the avg. score. This isn't the case with Xbox-centric websites.

I've seen a lot of very critical articles towards Sony by them for years now. You usually don't see that from other pom pom sites. As an active member of PushSquare, I wouldn't put them in the same sentence as those xbox sites nor the PlayStation ones despite them being PlayStation centric.
Funny enough, user score on Steam (via SteamDB) deflated to 75 (and will deflate during the weekend by the looks of it). So even if the game will end up in the low 80's it still be somehow above the tame and muted audience reception.
SteamDB is way more robust and faster at updating the data than Steam client.Looks like it’s currently 80% on Steam.
SteamDB is way more robust and faster at updating the data that Steam client.
Steam rating is currently counting only 29,318 reviews in it's weighted score due to review bombing protection and stuff. It's usually slower than SteamDB algorithm but in the end lands pretty close to it.Never messed with Steam Database, but it doesn’t update as quickly because Steam is currently showing 47,351 reviews total compared to 46,282 on Steam Database.
Zero shame.Xbox Era gave Redfall 8.5/10
Wish I can find the video. It's been posted here several times over the years. The other hosts looked like they were sweating bullets with her rant.
There's 56 scores on there.6 Xbox-dedicated sites
3 different IGNs
3 Brazilian sites
1 site that hasn't even given a rating yet (and has already said it can be at most a 6 out of 10)
Updated it with better quality/full video. She set a world record for cringe and entitlement in that one video.
I think it's funny that Brazilian outlets got Microsoft's attention; we rarely see any of our news websites being mentioned. There's 56 scores on there.
Getting your knickers in a twist because 3 are from Brazil, 6 are from Xbox sites and 3 are from IGN is probably not worth anyone's time. Definitely not worth you highlighting and colour coding them, oh my god, this game has absolutely broken some people around here.
I love that the review thread got locked on REEEE because people were spreading truths
"7 free Xbox's"
Seeing a certain pattern here.
Buying the top third party publishers too. Mo money, mo problems.Sony and Nintendo don't need "influencers" to sell their console because their quality 1st party games sell themselves with good reviews and word of mouth.
On the other hand, MS needs to buy these people in order to compensate for the lack of games (and the lack of demand as a result). It's pretty pathetic.
