Check out the latest batch of previews, it's pretty much a linear story based platformer with combat interludes.

eg:

No....I haven't dived into the previews yet, but I've already seen enough to know that SoM has platforming.......but that doesn't mean it is necessarily a platformer, first and foremost, like you are suggesting. Plenty of games have platforming but they are not described as such.

I get why there are so many remasters now. All the teams were making GAAS games. Days Gone remaster incoming.

Koei Tecmo has a new AAA studio filled with people from Team Ninja. Playstation developer Xdev, which has previously worked on Nioh and Rise of the Ronin, seem to be hinting their involvement with a game at tmmrws SOP. This would make the most sense, imo

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Semantics aside, it's pretty much the farthest thing from Forspoken, at least.

Huh? The Greek Pantheon is the original soap opera.

It's a rich well of characters and story hooks.

We're not talking about a story about Greek mythology, we're talking about a story that focuses on Kratos...

You guys seem to struggle with what tv looks like today versus what it looks liked in the 90s and early 2000s or what's been continued on CW.

This isn't Xena or Hercules.

It’s in the link, i’m not going to bother writing them all down.

Hold the L bro. The Greek Saga wasn't built for TV. It was Kratos solving puzzles and beating monsters. He had little interaction with characters throughout. Even characters like Athena, Aries, and Zeus are barely in it.

Bleh, you probably thought the Lord of the Rings couldn’t be translated to the big screen either.

well, now it has been.

It's time to move on and treat every MS game as any other third-party publisher game. (we don't need a dozen of threads about MS ports)
And not every third-party publisher appears at SOPs, so at that point it's speculation out of nowhere. Which, all things considered, is fine; my main issue was with the game itself being discussed.

So rather than prove your point, you'll go with a random straw man... You're stacking Ls left and right here.

The Lord of the Rings has major characters to build around.

God of War doesn't even have a secondary protagonist in the greek saga... You have side characters like Athena in the first game and Gaia in the 2nd and 3rd game. That's not enough...

Most TV series have at least 4 or 5 main cast members. There are exceptions like TLOU which was successfully built around 2, but one? Yeah, you're not going to find much success like that. Especially not a character like Kratos was in the Greek Saga. The TV show you want doesn't exist and it doesn't exist for a good reason.

That reminds me i still have to play Uncharted 4 on my PC.
Problem is the game makes my CPU going really hot. I don't have those problems with other games.

Nowhere? There is a good chance that MS will start showcasing their games at Sony’s events.

It's a 40 minute presentation; that is a finite amount of seconds for the event. Any time Hellblade 2 would have at the SOP, means time that could've been allotted to another game. That's how this works.
The biggest problem with these things presented as video is that they're boring while being relatively short.
PS needs to edit the best parts of the live event down to something short that hits like a rock video directed by Guy Ritchie in his prime.
Jump cuts, driving music and enough excitement to get people looking forward to the coming year - something no one can turn away from.
Condense the 40min event into a short advertisement for those of us with zero patience that aren't already excited about what PS is doing in '25.

Ahh maybe we get a peek at Wolfeye Studios new game (former Arkane devs). It's still pretty far off it seems though, probably not even a 2026 release.
