TOKYO--According to a recent report on the Japanese Gamersta Web site, Noritaka Funamizu has recently left Capcom to found his own company. Funamizu is best known for his work as the producer of the Street Fighter series. He most recently held the positions of executive director and research as well as development division 1 chief at the company.
Funamizu's new company is called Craft and Meister and was created with another ex-Capcom producer, Katsuhiro Sudo. Not much is know about the company's plans at present, but having started out with only six employees, it is, unsurprisingly, recruiting.
In addition to the Street Fighter games, Funamizu's credits include a number of recent titles such as Resident Evil Outbreak and Monster Hunter. Sodo, who worked with Funamizu in Capcom's research and development division 1, was the producer on both Auto Modellista and Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon.
