All the Metroid Primes play perfectly fine. They are praised for their controls.

sure it's not an ideal mouse, but better than no mouse at all.

I wouldn't play a shooter with this, but for some other genres it's a nice thing to have imo

I think it’s an awesome idea on paper but I thought the same thing about the touchpad on the PS4 and 5 controller. It just ends up being a novelty at best.

I’d love for it to be integrated really well and usable in most games like keyboard/mouse would be on a PC.

Seems like a dumb gimmick that nintendo is throwing in their just to say that they innovated with the switch 2. The joycons are too tiny and too uncomfortable to use for adult sized hands and using this thing as a mouse would be uncomfortable af.

Guys, there will be a plastic shell for sale that this will fit in that can turn it into a full sized mouse.

Don't get hung up on the specifics, they will all work themselves out, rather focus on the potential. Does this have potential for novelty in gaming?

Remember that there was a game recently announced for consoles that also has M&K support. I think 3rd parties on Nintendo would love to offer alt control solutions and Mario Paint was damn fun my guys. Damn fun.

Same but Metroid Prime isn't a FPS and it controls flawlessly with the joycons. Even when you are shooting Samus locks on to targets. It's a breeze, and I'm a PC m&kb snob btw.

Metroid Prime is an action adventure series, not an FPS series.
it's mainly designed around locking onto enemies, not around manual aiming.

the combat in the Prime games is about dodging and movement. manual aiming is mostly (almost exclusively) required for puzzle elements.

M&K has always stifled my FPS enjoyment. Even 20 + years ago playing LAN party Half-life on the ship in the Navy. I prefer a controller.

The problem will be trying to move the mouse without accidently moving the joystick and vice-versa. Especially considering that the joystick on the side.

This can be an issue sometimes on gaming mice with just regular buttons on the side...let alone a joystick....
