Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle Will Apparently Be A "Limited Time" Offer

If you're considering the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle, you might need to make a decision sooner rather than later.

While this new offering might seem like it's just a standard offering, it seems it will actually be a "limited time" deal. Yes, according to Nintendo deal will actually be a "limited time production" through to Fall 2025 (at least in the US) and available "while supplies last".

yeah they wouldn't be selling Mario Kart for $80 if they were going to keep the bundle as a permanent fixture because everyone would just buy the bundle instead

I miss the days before digital preordering was possible. Now all of Nintendo's fans won't get the exercise they need racing to the store.

They can keep it, I don't want anything digital from Nintendo if I can help it.

Hopefully most people go for that bundle so that I can get my hands on the regular SKU day one.

Presales have been live for 24 hours now in Australia and still hasn't sold out a single retailer, should be fine.
I decided to pull the trigger about 2hrs ago on the Mario Cart bundle through EB Games. Really didn't expect there to be stock left.

So, is there any good news surrounding Switch 2?

It's full on negative mode it seems like.

Nintendo has no idea what it's doing.

I feel the high price of Mario kart as compared to the also first party monke game is to push people towards the bundle
ToTK, Kirby and Mario Party are all $80 as well according to Walmart so I don't think so.

DK might be a slightly smaller title if they're pricing it at $70 instead of $80. Like how astro bot was $60 instead of $70.

General reception of the reveal was quite positive (apart from here, which is to be expected). All hell broke loose once the price of games got out. Which is fair. Hopefully Nintendo listen to the feedback and don't double down. Gamers really are voting with their wallets on a number of issues of late which can have devastating impact on businesses.

I also think Nintendo will do something about all the negativity concerning prices.

But, it's up to us to make them change their mind.

Vote with your wallet.

Basically they are releasing it to soften the $80 price tag as people can just think "Well it's only $50 bundled with the console it's fine!". But they're keeping it limited so only a few million will be able to find stock of it at this reduced price before it's yanked from production and everyone else has to cough up $80.

Not sure I agree with that.

I think if the console cost 50 less in all regions and games 10 less people would be near unanimous in their praise.

MK, DK, Bloodborne 2 all look great.

Mario Kart physical is reported to be 90$ tho

The reports for USA prices are all over the place because in the UK/EU the Nintendo store lists a price for digital and a price for physical but USA Nintendo store simply says $80, so some have assumed that $80 is the digital and physical will be $90.

But Walmart pre orders have the physical version of Mario Kart at $80.

Switch 1 DeJaVu, 😂 Others than the game price hike, in the real world the Hype is through the roof. Gaming community =/= Real world… Nintendo knows what they are doing.

The point of this bundle is to get unsuspecting parents to buy it for their kids.

As most won't realise games are border line $100 each and as a parent I wouldn't be spending that on games for my kid/s who have an attention span of a nat.

So many parents are going to end up trapped in Nintendo's ecosystem due to there game prices and it's not going to bode well for Nintendo due to bloody every damn bill going up. Money is even tighter now days.

It's going to be another 3DS situation where Nintendos greed gets in the way of reality.

Was looking forward to switch 2 till I seen the game prices, a just can't justify it now a days, it's basically coming down to do I eat this week or do I buy a Nintendo game. Bloody nuts.

I'm buying but I'm also disappointed in a lot of things.

Two things can be true at the same time.

Assuming that Switch 2 will sell just because Switch 1 did is unwise.

Lots of headwinds in Nintendo's way this go-round.

If you are in such a dire economic situation even 50 would be too much to pay tbf

🙄 The only "Bad news" about the Switch 2 is a $20 dollars price increase in games… That's a dinner in a cheap pizza restaurant. Some of you a trying hard to make this looks like is the end of the world 😅.

It's not only about "bad news". I actually think Nintendo will have a good launch, the real question is what happens after they run out of the day 1 crowd.

People have options now for handheld devices.. LOTS of options both legal and not.. Including Switch 1. And these options will only increase with time as more competitors jump in with their own solutions.

Nintendo disrupted the game last gen, but they are stagnent now and are ripe for disruption by others.

That option has been there for years now… And the Switch 1 completely outsold everything combined. Nintendo wants to continue selling the Switch 1 for at least 2-3 years because a higher profit margins. And still i think the Switch 2 is going to have the biggest debut ever for a console.

Switch 1 came before most of them. For years it was the only handheld player in town.

Now Switch 2 comes out and there are already PC handhelds coming out the same month or year.. Not remotely comparable.

Edit: Also no COVID bump!

Did the PC handhelds when launched affected the Switch 1 sales? + Switch 2 is going to be just $450.

Remove the sales of the "COVID bump" year if you want, and still you have a 120+ million consoles sold 🤷‍♂️

PC handhelds only started in 2022 with the Steam Deck (Switch was +5 years old and had a strong install base by then), they are still very new to the market.

This isn't how it works rofl.

Momentum brings more momentum in the platform business. Look up "network effects" my friend.

I said this before... The Switch 2 is going to outsold the PC handheld market LTD (combined) in their first year.

"Only"

It's the biggest price increase ever made for games.

DK physical is $80 i think. Not sure...

Like i said, +$20 is not going to make anyone poor, also video games is an expensive hobby. The Console price is way more important and is in the price range expected.
"also video games is an expensive hobby"

Nope, it became an expensive hobby. 10 years ago it was much easier for me to buy consoles and games. Hell, 5 years ago it was easier.
