I had a black screen on NMH, but then I changed my language settings to English. Perhaps he should try setting it to English or Japanese (if that's an option).Kazenone said:A friend is getting a black screen on trying to boot Bleach Wii (JP version using PAL Freeloader on PAL Wii). He tried both boot methods too. As far as I know that's the only game he's tried though.
The black/white thing happens when your SDTV, using standard composite, is unable to properly handle the NTSC 60hz signal (like mine =( ). Using an RGB cable gives a red tint (even for the modern TVs, I think). So, unless you got a modern TV with NTSC 60hz support, you're fucked (like me =( ).Wizpig said:So in the end that Black/White problem is only with RGB or CRT TVs?
Anyone that had the same problem with an LCD or Component.
And, on another note, anyone that had problems launching US No More Heroes on a PAL Wii?
How can you see if your TV supports that?Dascu said:So, unless you got a modern TV with NTSC 60hz support, you're fucked (like me =( ).
Nice. Skies of Arcadia gets the green light then. Looking through the GC list, it seems that all the rare games (in PAL land at least) work and the common games don't. Fire Emblem, Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos, etc, all work. Mario Kart, Sunshine, Party, TTYD, all don't work, but they're also games that aren't too hard to still find.woobit said:I made one here: http://freeloader.wikidot.com

woobit, you can add Endless Ocean US to the PAL list.woobit said:I made one here: http://freeloader.wikidot.com
Just testing really, so its pretty incomplete and I'm the only one who can edit it. I've found alot of forums with people testing the FreeLoader so I got a lot to add. I think I might just open the wiki up and see what happens. Hopefully people wanna add stuff, but spamers keep out
Edit: Just hit 100 games added. Hope this doesn't violate their terms and the site gets deleted though
The GameCube Freeloader changed the NTSC signal into a PAL signal. I'm annoyed the Wii Freeloader doesn't do the same. Your LCD HDTV should work fine, I think. It's old SDTVs that have trouble with the NTSC signal.Wizpig said:How can you see if your TV supports that?
Any options or... dunno, something to try?
I played NTSC Animal Crossing with the Gamecube Freeloader on a PAL Gamecube back in the days, if that means anything.
But the TV i use now is a LCD HDTV + Component cable, so...
Good job.woobit said:I made one here: http://freeloader.wikidot.com

GCN Killer7 JPN: screen goes black, nothing happens.
GCN PN03 JPN: works fine.
Does it still do it when working in GCN mode?Dascu said:The GameCube Freeloader changed the NTSC signal into a PAL signal. I'm annoyed the Wii Freeloader doesn't do the same. Your LCD HDTV should work fine, I think. It's old SDTVs that have trouble with the NTSC signal.
Don't know. I don't have any non-PAL GCN games to try it out with either.Jocchan said:Does it still do it when working in GCN mode?
I don't know if this means ANYTHING at all, but...NTSC Playback on PAL TV: Yes
zoukka said:I just thought that is the "RGB not working with NTSC-games" just a Nintendo thing? I mean I've played imported ps1-games with RGB-cabel for years.
Hitmeneer said:I heard it is possible to play with RGB and freeloader on a PAL Wii.
I just tested mine and got the same problem with the same game. I thought it might have been the TV. Skies of Arcadia Legends works fine. Any idea if the black bar is fixable?farnham said:Baten Kaitos Origins
Works but with a black bar in the bottom
Ramenman said:You might have the same problem as Dascu.
Try changing your language settings to English (yeah that's weird, I know).
Edit : wowbeaten.
Which raises a question : Dascu, what was your Wii's original language ?
I was wondering "why do they have to change their language settings to English while I can play it in french" but maybe the game doesn't load if your Wii is in a language that isn't on the disc.
