The "Random questions that dont deserve a dedicated thread " thread.

Sometimes you have a question that's minor that isn't worth putting a new thread up for.
This is mine.
Can you develop a game for just xbox and not PC as well, or does MS publishing contracts say it must include a PC version as well?

I love this title.

Anyway yeah we have seen examples of third party games on Xbox and PlayStation, but not pc. If you’ll forgive me for going back a few years; monster Hunter world launched on Xbox and PlayStation at launch, but didn’t hit PC until a year or so later.

I’m sure there’s some other examples, certainly less common these days.

My minor question : I love gaming but sometimes i hate it so much..why am i like this ?
Most publishing companies are straight up ruining this industry with predatory money-making schemes. They treat it like it's a fucking fast food industry, and it deserves more respect.

I also hate this obsession with "cinematic" and story driven "experiences" where the games are more interested in telling a story like it's an extremely long-winded movie, when they should be focusing on making actual games and taking advantage of what this medium can do.

Idk if that's the reason why you hate gaming sometimes, but at least that's the reason for me.

Is there something similar to TheIsoZone out there?

Not because of the ISO you can find anywhere, but for the huge amount of emulators, hacks and useful little programs to expand emulators and roms.

For example, I'm looking for a Bleem! hack which support every PS1 game, I know it was there since I already downloaded, but now the site is gone and all those hacks are gone too.

Predatory monetization is one of the top reasons for me too. Lootboxes, battle pass, ads everywhere, copy paste games (especially on mobile) make the game industry insuferable.
But then i play a God of War, a Horizon, a Dead Cells etc and my faith is restored

Why can't Metroid crawl?

Sorry man, couldn't help myself. Great thread. Can't think of anything at the moment though...

Got one.

Besides turning your clothes inside out what else can help avoid those particles (?) when washing black clothes?

Why is IGN so terrible? I’m not talking about review scores. I mean their content in general. I saw an article the other day talking about game pricing and I felt they were doing their best to put a spin on how the price of gaming going up is not only good, but I should open up my wallet even more to publishers…because reasons.

They're still not over Batgirl being canceled and shelved. Grief counselors were brought in, but it's not enough.

Try watching their TV station. I’ve tuned in to it several times now on my Samsung TV. Sometimes it’s ok and other times it feels like they’re straight out of GameStop TV. I usually catch the Nintendo news. They’re the GameStop of gaming press. If someone gets burned out they’ll just hire someone else to sound enthusiastic about paint drying.

I picked up Ace Combat 7. Why do I feel like there’s no sense of speed. I’m flying an F16 and I feel like I’m moving at a snail’s pace. Before I invest a lot of time into it. Does it get any better? Last AC I played was Assault Horizon.

Just bought Hitman 3 for that big collaboration of 1 and 2 coming up. Last Hitman I played was Absolution and before that Blood Money.

I know we have a "Sub" tab for "watched" threads, but that easily gets crowded and messy. I wonder, is it possible that we could have a sort of "favorite" tag for threads and an additional button up top for that? I think that would be a really nice feature to have. That way it doesn't get confused with threads we interact with and you don't have to constantly try to manually prune to get back to main threads you want to keep tabs on over time, or come back to after some time.

Edit: Guess this really isn't the thread I thought I was bumping.. but it's over now. Sorry.

What do peeps here think about Final Fantasy XVI? I am about to start it for the second time. I am primarily interested in the action and combat gameplay, as opposed to story and place within the FF legacy. The first time I played it, I made it to some hub area in a cave or mountain early on. I stopped playing there.

(Cool thread, OP! I always have dumb and pointless questions and this was my opportunity but I fudged it lol)

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Decent to good action RPG. Gets very button mashy in the later areas. The side quests sucked for the most part.

Action/combat is solid, but they skinned a lot of traditional RPG elements out of the game (ie elemental affinities and weaknesses, EQ is pretty much as unexciting as it can get, etc). Good thing you don't care about the plot, because it commits hari kari halfway through the game. It's solid though. The thing it accomplishes best is spectacle.
