This is how I feel, too. The movies are just pure ass. One thing I can't overlook while watching them is how Riddick is always talking about how bad Riddick is. C'mon, man....

Great games. I remember Dark Athena being somewhat maligned at the time, but I still quite enjoyed it even if it was much more action focused and lacked some of the methodical zest of the original. The remake of Butcher Bay was solid. That was back in the good ol’ days when remaking a game after a mere 5 years was silly… but hey - it was free!
Looking back, I do prefer the color grading of the original Butcher Bay, and it does feel a bit snappier to play. I need to get a copy of that on PC again. Never got a digital release, I believe. I was fortunate to get the Dark Athena GOG release before it got delisted. Ah, licensing.
Anyway, great games.

Very good game. I remember being blown away on Xbox when it came out. Years later I ended up tracking down a Steam key to replay it which I'm glad I did at the time as it and Prey are some of my most prized Steam games no longer on offer.

Insane how good they were. I even like Chronicles of Riddick the movie though. This entire genre/niche/A-level feels completely absent from modern gaming. OG Xbox had one of the comfiest libraries.
I wish they were better preserved on PC. I don't think there's anyone home to remake them.

Apparently Vin has opened his own game studio to work on a new Riddick game after Furya movie wraps up. Or so I have read eons ago.
Could be that maybe he did catch some OG Starbreeze Devs or ex-Machine Games devs to work on a new Riddick game but that's just my wishful thinking.

There will be Riddick 4: Furya this year I think.
Appatently there he whishes to make a final move too after Furya called Underverse and this will wrap up Riddick story in movies.
He talked about it in 2014, so maybe more Riddick games are not out of the question.
It looks like he waited about 12 years to jump back into Riddick universe in movies.
So maybe just maybe.

yeah, i heard the final is finally funded, and in production, it's been long journey, i often imagining how is underverse is, and what is underverse is. my favorite is chronicle of riddick. it's like dark fantasy in space, which I like because there is magical being such as elemental and the necros designs, dang, one of the best scifi fantasy design in movies. ugh, i'm itching for more...

For me Riddick is pretty awesome character, story and universe is interesting to me.
I have complete opposite opinion.
We need more manly characters in games and in movies. I like the whole universe of Riddick. Games, movies.
I want to see Furya, Elementals, Underworld - all of it!
Riddick from 2013 was a bit of a bummer, more of Pitch Black I guess. But it wasn't a bad movie and I get that they did that with a lower budget to at least do something more and maybe jump start the Furya project.
I personally would like a Thief 1-3 movie too, Garrett is an interesting character too, universe is pretty big. It would make an awesome movie.
Both characters in games have a manly VA. Pretty awesome universe with lots of lore. Those games are Ridiculusly good too.
MAN i just played the demo i got on magazine CD never played the full game.
remember i had Geforce 4 MX 440 & 256 MB RAM and it took painful 25 mins loading time, only to be followed by the slideshow .
Then i upgraded the RAM to 512MB this time game loaded within 2-3 secs & still followed by slideshow

Is there any good way to play these on PC now? I own it on Steam and it lets me download it but I've never been able to get it to work and it's been scrubbed off of all stores.

you might find the drm free GOG version of dark athena online , it includes a remaster of the original

If you can get your hands on Assault on Dark Athena for 360 or PS3, it comes with the remaster of Escape From Butcher Bay (which is underrated and never mentioned when it comes to the better remasters out there).
