Timed Xbox exclusive title Mecha Break beta debut on Steam with over 300K CCU and 34% user review rating

However, the game’s demo has also seen its fair share of controversy due to the over-the-top character customization. The developers have heavily monetized the game, and players suspect it may become a pay-to-win title in the near future.

Additionally, the anti-cheat in the game requires manual removal even after uninstalling the game, which players found annoying. Still, there is no denying that Mecha Break is an absolute treat for a free-to-play title.

Sounds like this is a chance to test Men_in_Boxes Men_in_Boxes theory about people being excited for a pay-to-win GaaS game?

Reading over one of the reviews, it talked about F2P players being limited in how much currency they could grind per week and needing multiple weeks of grinding to be able to get something that just comes with the battlepass. It didn't sound cosmetic, but I don't know the game. If they're actually bringing mobile-style pay-to-win or pay-to-skip microtransactions, this will be a fun test case.

Anyone else find it weird that fanboys are using steam to bash each others console?

Also to put it into perspective 20k ccu will put you in the top 100 for that day.

I dont care if this game is p2w. The last time I had a mech experience like this that I wanted to experience it was with hawken and that game died along with other mech games I was interested in. Anyways, this is just the demo/beta.

Proper implementation vs poor implementation. This smells like poor implementation to me.

From Microsoft’s pov, this game for who haven't played Ac6, it's not about jumping ships, if you've played ac6 then you are missing the point. No one buys the jumping ship argument anymore.

I played the first beta on steam. Gameplay is decent.

The server overloaded during the second beta so lots of players couldn't log in, and subsequently it got review bombed by mostly chinese players. The heavy monetization is definitely concerning though.

Worse review than SYNDUALITY:Echo of Ada is actually a achievement!
No seriously, the player count seems a lot, with 300k peak on steam.

The body language for the players who played less than 2 hours are exactly what ac6 players who aren't done with the game would do, then they must go back to playing ac6, jumping ships are bunch of delusional players cause it's unrealistic.
