Modern developers - please play these games (all first 6) and learn from them how to create a badass female protagonist.

You clearly forgot:

Nice. Forgot about this. Sucks that it's releasing in such a crowded month. Will likely wait until summer.

OMG the nostalgia from Mechanical Horseman on Dreamcast hit me right in the feels.

Loved the remaster to 1-3. Looking forward to this. More games of that era need this treatment. The Soul Reaver remasters were solid as well.

Same. Only beat TR1 and I'm halfway through TR2.
Toward the end--in the original TR2, anyway--you'd get to a part where you had to jump on springs, like Sonic the Hedgehog, and make it to the top. Man -- without a guide on that, I never would have made it -- knowing which way to hold the stick when springing (there are four choices, after all). Overall, though, 2 is by far my favorite of the originals.

I'm out of the loop, what went wrong?
A rather embarrassing disclaimer about "inexcusable harmful stereotypes" that was a bit insulting to the devs that actually made the games. Then there was apparently some bug that happened to remove some pinup posters in the "hd" version of the game (and was subsequently fixed).

Fairly innocuous but enough to make me wait and see what happens with this release. Especially since I'm not a big fan of Crystal Dynamics in the first place.

Just heard about this. I never played the originals, but I'm open to a remaster/remake. I don't think I could manage the original tank controls. I've played four TR games, mostly the modern ones, nothing prior to Legend.

I like some of the old-style, linear action-adventure games like this, though, so I might jump in. I was impressed to hear they brought some superfans on board to help with the development - that's a great way to do it. And apparently the remasters of 1-3 turned out well.

People really believe that 'a bug' replaced that pinup posters?

Quite hilarious to see.

For some reason, they want to censor these games. They censored Pierre's jacket in the first relase.

There is a mod to fix it. I am sure there will be a mod for the pinups.

How dare we have nudity.

If they lecture me on social justice crap in any form I'm not buying this either. Yes, I'm a snowflake.

The modern controls are actually fantastic. Unfortunately, the game doesn't explain how they fucking work.

I'm about to finish TR1 remastered and I'm still learning new button combinations. I literally just learned you can hold R1 to automatically vault obstacles.....I almost broke down in tears when I figured that out. I subsequently learned you can also hold R1 to simply drop off a ledge and grab it. I figured out how to swan dive last night, but I still can't figure out how to do the goddamn ledge handstand.

I chalked up my frustrations with the modern controls as the developers still wanting to keep the spirit of the original game intact. I'll grant the fact that I'm a moron......but still. Watch a modern control guide on YouTube or something first.
