Ubisoft is Shutting Down XDefiant (the game will remain playable until June 3rd, 2025)

who do you think bob is?

Can't say I'm surprised. The game was mediocre as hell, and Ubisoft don't know what they are doing on any front. They were just chasing the live service bullshit.

Not surprised, that game was so average. I remember before it released it there was all this talk of it being the next COD for people who wanted old school call of duty, it was nothing like that.

Ubi is so trash now, it's crazy how far they've fallen in the past 10 years.

Was a fucking terrible shooter.
They leant on the characters of already dead franchises too much.

Whoever green lit this game needs sacking.

It will relaunch as BlueskyDefiant, with even BLUER hair.

I played a bit of this game. It really didn't come across as a woke game or any kind of identity politics at all. Is this what you are getting at with it? What kind of illness do you people have?

The game had really bad netcode issues and was targetting the competitive cod scene. Which is going to be impossible to win over even though they hate their game most years because it's their own ecosystem and the streamers and pros are tied to it and can't risk moving elsewhere. Even if the game was better than cod - it would have really struggled to win this fight. I thought it had potential in early betas but it never really got any better and just kept getting delayed so I knew it was fucked.

Rainbow 6 siege is still going strong. They were doing what every publisher is doing or will eventually do; create more live service games after they create their first successful one.

It's strange that this didn't happen earlier.
The game has been on artificial life support for a long time, and died a long time ago.

That's what happens when you let blatant cheaters stay in your game to keep numbers up. Good riddance! I had high hopes for this one after the first few days it was live.

It's just a joke, little guy. Calm down. Pounding the keyboard with your fists isn't going to help you with whatever your problem is.

Bummer. Call of Duty could use some real competition, but like all before XDefiant doesn't hold a candle. If Activision had shit the bed and made another MW3 tier game maybe they could peel off more players. But when BO6 is as good as it is and attracting more players than ever the writing was on the wall.

Poor Ubisoft, I avoid most of their games these days but I'm actually starting to feel bad for them. They are in massive trouble.

Ah, another attempt to replicate the lightning-in-a-bottle success of live service culminates in yet another multi-million dollar earnings gap - honestly, you get better odds at a black jack table.

It's a boring joke that isn't based in any reality with this game. Every thread atm has people ranting about wokesters even when it has fuck all to do with anything being discussed. It's so tiring to read. Get some better material.

One of the worst names for a video game ever
To this day I can't figure it out. When it was first announced I just set my timer for how long this was gonna last. We all know Ubi leadership is trash but so is their product marketing and development teams. A kid could come up with a better name. Idiots. Sad people will lose their jobs but leadership and Yves should be on the chopping block. Idiots. Brain dead.

Decent game, nothing exciting about it and seasons felt dull. The only thing it had going for it was the connection based matchmaking.

And nothing of value was lost. Hopefully Ubi's recent woes and decline will at least make other publishers take note: your logo feces does not guarantee success just because it is smeared all over everything. Make a quality product at a reasonable price and people will line your pockets. Subvert quality and affordability with social agendas and monetization, and take your chances. Stop chasing trends and just make good video games. That's all that the reasonable customers want.

I wonder how long it'll take before Ubisoft admits they barked up the wrong tree with certain policies. There's way too many failures recently.

Was this the extraction shooter? I never played it. But not extraction shooter I've ever played was the division, if that even counts.
